Fast fashion juggernaut Hennes & Mauritz AB or simply known as ‘H&M’ is a Swedish-based fast fashion brand. Over the years, the brand has successfully collaborated with a number of artists, sportsmen, and others to sell their merch in H&M stores. Baby hitmaker Justin Bieber is one such individual. Over the past few days, the 28-year-old pop sensation hit out at the fast fashion giants for selling his merch without his permission. At this point in time, neither party has resorted to legal actions, therefore it seems as though the issue will not escalate any further.
What Happened?

According to @jbiebertraacker ‘s post on Instagram, the merchandise included a white sweatshirt dress that had a black and white photo of Bieber on it. It also featured a bright pink oversized hoodie that had “I miss you more than life” written on it. The aforementioned line is a line from his song Ghost . Bieber took matters into his own hands and commented, “When everyone finds out I didn’t approve any of this merch smh” under the post.
Justin Bieber Hits Out
After commenting on the post, Bieber took to his Instagram stories to call out H&M and deter his fans from buying the merch. He said , “I didn’t approve any of the merch collection that they put up at H&M… all without my permissions and approval SMH I wouldn’t buy it If I were you. In another slide, he added, “The H&M merch they made of me is trash and I didn’t approve it, don’t buy it.”
Statement From H&M
After the scathing words issued by Bieber, the company issued a statement of its own insisting that it did not do any wrong. Their statement said, “As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M followed proper approval procedures,” the statement reads. Out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber, we have removed the garments from our stores and online.” The 28-year-old is no stranger to the world of fashion and has his own brand ‘Drew House’ that he launched in 2018 with creative director Ryan Good.
Health Conditions
Earlier this year, Bieber confirmed the cancellation of his world tour as he was diagnosed with Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome. As a result of which, one side of his face gets paralyzed. The What Do You Mean star is currently nursing his health and will not be seen in live action for a while.
