No matter how old we all get, there are still so many things we don’t know . I know there are still a lot of things out there for me to learn , at least.
This pictures may teach you something new, or they may show you something you’ve never seen before. Either way, you’re going to finish reading this list feeling a bit smarter than you were before.
“Pulled over for a smoke break and stumbled across this abandoned grave from 1852, older than the town I live in!”
It’s strange to me that graves can exist in random places. Places that aren’t even graveyards, to boot. I guess there’s always a chance that you could run into a random gravestone when you’re out on a hike or for a drive. That’s both super cool, and super creepy.
“Wild horses in my neighbor’s yard this morning.”
So, do wild horses really just roam around neighborhoods like this? I know I’ve never seen one horse unattended, let alone five!
Do you think someone is going to come for them, or scare them away? Or will they just be left alone to come and go as they please?
“I have a can from batch number 1 of my cider.”
Theoretically, there’s always a first batch of everything. But you’ll either never know, or never see it. That is, unless you’re this person, and you’re enjoying one of the very first ciders this company has produced. Honestly, this is the kind of moment you should be a little proud of.
“Old laptop used as a doorstop at a Salon.”
Now this is something you don’t see every day. Rather than throw away this super old and probably useless laptop, someone found a way to recycle it. And this way, you can get some fresh air inside your building. Kind of strange, but also kind of genius when you think about it.
“My house has an indoor window.”
It’s so strange to me that some houses… just have windows in between rooms. I get that it’s to help bring light into certain ares, but it’s still so weird.
And it’s definitely a lot weirder in person. If you’ve ever lived or been in a house with random windows like this, you’ll know what I mean.
“Scorpions glow in the dark under a black light flashlight beam.”
I’m willing to bet you probably haven’t seen a lot of scorpions in your lifetime, day or night. But if you’re going to see one, might as well do it when the lights are off. Because they glow in the dark. Or more specifically, under UV lights. Scary, but cool!
“This geode looks like a bread roll.”
Geodes are usually quite pretty. This one is sort of pretty, but it’s making me hungry more than anything else.
Why does it look so much like bread? How does it look so much like bread? I have way too many questions for this little piece of rock.
“I saw a rooster on the train today.”
I’m sure you end up seeing a lot of super weird things on public transit, but this has to take the cake. Someone out there took their chickens on a bike ride, and that bike ride included a stop on the train. I really want to know where they’re going…
“A Donald Duck car, driven by Donald and Daisy.”
I guess Donald and Daisy have places to be, too. Though, they usually look more duck-like than humanlike, but oh well.
Do you think this couple actually owns this car, and have to keep up with the theme? Or did they rent it specifically to drive down town looking like a couple of Disney characters?
“Traffic cone on a utility pole.”
I feel like there’s a good reason why you don’t typically see traffic cones on top of poles like this. Considering it’s so close to a bunch of electric wires (which can kill you), How would someone get it up there without touching any of them? I guess we’ll never know.
“This golden quarter, compared to a regular quarter.”
I can’t imagine that a golden quarter is worth a lot, even if it is made out of gold. I mean, it’s still a quarter. It can only be 25 cents.
So then, why did anyone make golden quarters? They have to be commemorative or something, because I can’t see any other good reason.
“Found a lint orb galaxy while disassembling a dryer drum.”
I’m assuming these lint balls didn’t roll themselves up to that size. Even though I would totally believe it if anyone said that these perfectly round balls of lint formed those shapes naturally. I just think it’s super fun.
And probably a lot of work. Almost too much work, sadly.
“Have you ever seen an all blue Redbox?”
They’re called Redboxes, aren’t they? So how did this one end up being so blue? There aren’t a lot of Redbox units in my area, so just seeing one in general would be really weird to me. But this one is too blue. It just doesn’t feel right.
“This mouthwash dispenser at Chick-fil-A.”
Now here’s a pretty interesting idea. Fast food (and food in general), can make your breath smell. Even if this station is a bit passive aggressive (are they telling us our breath smells?), it isn’t totally unwanted. At least you’d be able to attend your next meeting without garlic breath or something.
“This is a very difficult image to get: it is the moment when a bee is secreting the wax from its abdomen through its cherry glands.”
This is one fact I never knew, and I don’t know how to feel that I have learned it. Since that wax is essentially coming out of the bee’s butt, it feels so weird using it for stuff. We use beeswax in lip balm. Lip balm , people!
“In Åland there are hundreds of rock piles on a rocky field made by tourists!”
I’ve never seen anything quite like this before! So many different rock formations. I’d have a hard time believing anyone who tried to pass this off as natural, or as something one person did. But knowing that a bunch of tourists made these makes it so much cooler.
“My headphones came with a USB A charger that plugs in up- and downwards!”
Have you ever seen such a beautiful sight? This is literally what perfection looks like. A USB charger that can plug in either way. No more blindly guessing which side is the right side, only to flip it around three times before it goes in. It’s all we’ve ever wanted.
“Found an empty, completely sealed Coke can in a pack of 12. No punctures at all, only came out looking slightly crushed.”
I wonder how this got through the assembly line. Surely someone would’ve noticed a can that accidentally didn’t get filled with soda, yet was sealed all the same. That kind of sucks for the person who bought the case; they get a cool story, but one less Coke at the same time.
“These batteries are flavored so kids won’t eat them.”
I’ve never seen batteries like this before, but this is honestly such a cool idea. I guess they can be a choking hazard for small children who like to put things in their mouths, so this will at least taste so bad, kids will stay away. Not bad.
“This door on a ferry in Seattle has a tiny door built in.”
I really hope the tiny door is for people’s cats, and it isn’t for rats or anything. If it’s a cat door, that’s cool and adorable. If it’s a rat door, that’s creepy and disgusting. Don’t treat them like guests, or else they’ll never leave. And no one wants that.
