Demi Lovato has always been the ultimate baddie when it comes to combatting fat-shamers, and we love her for it.
Even though 2018 seemed to be Demi’s Everest , she’s come back stronger than ever, and still passionately advocating for what she believes in.
You’d think that in 2019, we wouldn’t be seeing game ads blatantly fat-shaming —what a world we live in.
Luckily, Demi’s around to let them know what’s up.
Demi has never let anyone get away with fat-shaming.

As someone who has openly spoken out about her own battles with an eating disorder , and overcoming it, it’s really no surprise that she isn’t afraid to take a stance against diet culture.
She’s always been brave enough to share her insecurities and struggles with us.
Just like every girl on the planet, Demi has things about herself that make her feel insecure at times. The fact that she can admit to hers on social media, is very big of her.
She likes to remind the fat-shamers that they don’t hold any power over her.

In a few subsequent photos on her Instagram story, she let the world know that she loves herself, no matter what “imperfections” internet trolls point out about her.
I can’t believe that not having a thigh gap is any cause for concern.

According to fat-shamers, thigh-gaps determine your worth. Which is obviously absurd. We know that, and thankfully, Demi knows it too.
It’s hard to believe that by any definition of the word, Demi is being shamed for being “fat”.

But regardless of the haters, she’s encouraging herself and others to embrace their real selves.
Overall, she seems confident and proud of her curves, rightfully so.
Even though the hateful, fat-shaming comments never cease, Demi continues to flaunt what she’s got on social media , and we are here for it.
She’s even clapped back at Disney for mocking eating disorders.
Even though Disney is where her career took off from, she isn’t afraid to call them out when they’re doing something shady.
Keep in mind, this is a show geared at a younger audience, about two preteen girls.

Back in 2010, in an episode of Disney’s Shake It Up , a character joked, saying: “I could just eat you up—well, if I ate.”
Then it happened again in a different Disney program called “So Random.”

A character made a comment about not eating to stay in shape.
Sounds healthy.
Demi left her leading role in Disney’s “Sonny With A Chance” to enter rehab, due to her eating disorder.
So, she was shocked to see the network making light of such a serious issue.
She took to Twitter to let Disney know

In a since-deleted tweet , she added: “I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actress’ from the pressures of an EATING DISORDER and yet still make joke about that very disease. #nice,”
She even called out Disney for only hiring thin actresses.
In another deleted tweet, she wrote: “And is it just me or are the actress’ getting THINNER AND THINNER.… I miss the days of RAVEN, and LIZZIE MCGUIRE,”
Amen to that!
Disney quickly tweeted back at her, letting her know they would be pulling the episodes off the air.

Demi really is the hero we didn’t know we needed. She did that for us, every impressionable young fan out there.
Calling out a major corporation was all in a day’s work for Demi.

If clapping back at Disney didn’t phase her, we can only imagine how quick she was to call out a random phone app ad that peered its ugly head on her Instagram feed.
An ad for the mobile app “Game of Sultans” caught Demi’s eye, using words like “obese” vs. “pretty”, under the words “my daughter” and “friend’s daughter”.

She screen-shot the ad, and posted it to her Instagram story along with her own caption.
How does this app even exist in 2019?

Whoever thought this app would hit on Instagram needs a reality check. Social media is made up of countless body-positive, and feminist personal blogs that would never stand for this.
Demi makes a very good point.

Okay, this is just sad. They’re feeding the “obese” one broccoli, and the “thin” one cheesecake.
Thank goodness Demi didn’t let this slide.
I really hope Instagram takes Demi’s advice and removes this ad from the platform altogether.

In an era when feminism and body-positivity are on the rise, Instagram should really know better than to let this pop up on people’s feeds.
Preach, Demi!
Demi even let Twitter know about the ad, to raise more awareness.

In case anybody on Twitter missed her Instagram rant, she sent out a little announcement to shed more light on the issue.
The reactions were unanimous: This ad has got to go.

I’m really glad we’re all on the same page about this. It’s too important not to be.
Demi fans around the globe are applauding her solid efforts to make the world a better place for people that aren’t a size double-zero.

Hopefully the creators of that app have a change of heart.
“Game of Sultans” using the words “obese” vs. “pretty” will not be tolerated any longer.

It’s pretty ironic that something like this would even show up on Demi Lovato’s feed, given how outspoken she is about body positivity on a regular basis.
Hopefully that’s the last we see of this nonsense.

I’m sure the complaints and bad reviews of this game of skyrocketed since Demi’s post.
They definitely got what was coming to them!
We’re proud of you, Demi. Keep fighting the good fight.
