The Queen is meant to be one of the most polite and sophisticated ladies around — it’s kind of her whole brand. We don’t insult high-maintenance people by calling them a “queen” for nothing.
So when I saw HRH was trending on Twitter after cake her jubilee cake with a sword, I knew I had to do some investigating.

In honor of this milestone, HM celebrated with Platinum Jubilee festivities this past weekend.
This past Sunday marked 70 years to the day that Princess Elizabeth became Queen in 1952.
“It is a day that, even after 70 years, I still remember as much for the death of my father, King George VI, as for the start of my reign,” HM said in a statement marking the monumental day.
The statement continued: “As we mark this anniversary, it gives me pleasure to renew to you the pledge I gave in 1947 that my life will always be devoted to your service.”
“As I look ahead with a sense of hope and optimism to the year of my Platinum Jubilee, I am reminded of how much we can be thankful for.”
The 95-year-old monarch went on to describe how much the world has evolved in the past seventy years.
“These last seven decades have seen extraordinary progress socially, technologically and culturally that have benefitted us all; and I am confident that the future will offer similar opportunities to us and especially to the younger generations in the United Kingdom and throughout the Commonwealth.”
“I am fortunate to have had the steadfast and loving support of my family.”
HM then went on to remember her late husband Prince Phillip, who passed away last year.
“I was blessed that in Prince Philip I had a partner willing to carry out the role of consort and unselfishly make the sacrifices that go with it. It is a role I saw my own mother perform during my father’s reign.”
“I remain eternally grateful for, and humbled by, the loyalty and affection that you continue to give me,” she added.
HM then made the announcement that her daughter-in-law Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, “will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service” when the time comes for her son to ascend the throne.
One of the main celebrations of the weekend included cutting Her Majesty cutting into her Platinum Jubilee cake with members of the Women’s Institute and local Norfolk charities.
The dessert was adorned with a celebratory message, which meant it was facing the cameras when HM went to cut into it.
For an extra sentimental touch, the massive cake was not only baked by a local resident but featured a posy decoration.
As eagle-eyed fans may know, HM 1953 Coronation bouquet also featured the sentimental flower.
When told the cake was turned upside down to face the press, the monarch joked: “I don’t mind. I don’t matter!”
After literally stabbing the cake, the Queen said: “I think I’ll just put a knife in it…somebody else can do the rest of it.”
Of course, the internet has been obsessed with the saucy moment and the video has gone viral.
I say the longest-reigning monarch deserves a good laugh and minimal physical labor on her special day!
In honor of the occasion, I say that we all cut our cakes in this aggressive, stabbing way before asking someone else to finish the job!
