The WWE community is mourning the loss of Wayde Douglas Bowles, better known as Rocky “Soul Man” Johnson. WWE confirmed that he died on January 15th.
Johnson was regarded as the first African-American World Tag Team Champion in WWE history.
He was also the father to former professional wrestler turned actor, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
In 2008, he achieved the highest honor in sports-entertainment when he was inducted by his son into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Currently there is no word on Johnson’s cause of death. He was 75.
