Country star Pat Green has revealed that his family has “suffered a heartbreaking and deeply personal loss” after the devastating Texas floods, which have taken the lives of more than 100 people since they swept in on July 4.
His wife shared the news online
In an Instagram post made on Monday, July 7, the singer’s wife, Kori Green, shared, “Pat’s little brother John, his wife, Julia, and two of their children were swept away in the Kerrville flood.”

She thanked everyone for their messages
“We are so thankful for the outpouring of love and concern,” Kori wrote in the caption.
“We are heartbroken and anxiously waiting for all of them to be found. Thank you for your prayers.”
Local outlets report that they were found
Although Kori said in her post that their family members are yet to be found, local outlets have since reported that John and Julia’s bodies have been recovered.
John was holding on to his children
KCEN-TV reported on Tuesday that the couple had been staying in an RV in Kerrville with their two sons, Jack and James, when the flood found its way to them.
Green’s loved ones confirmed the family members’ deaths, and witnesses told the Daily Express that John “clung to his babies”, who are aged 5 and 1, as he tried to fight the flood.
The search for their sons continues
The deceased couple’s sons are yet to be found, with their daughter, Jenna, remaining uninjured as she was at summer camp and not at the RV park with her parents and brothers at the time.
People are wishing the Green family well wishes
Support for Green and his loved ones came pouring through from the country singer’s fans.
One person wrote, “There are no words for a loss like this. I can’t imagine the heartbreak you’re feeling, but please know you’re in my heart and prayers.”
People echoed how difficult it must be
“Kori, I am so so sorry, from the bottom of my heart to hear this. Sending your family SO much love. Prayers, prayers prayers they are found safe ????????,” another person wrote under Kori’s post.
A third added, “The situation is truly inconceivable. Sending our love and prayers ????.”
The country singer had also released a statement
Prior to Kori’s post sharing details about the Greens’ loss, Pat Green himself had shared a statement.
“Over the weekend, during the devastating flooding that hit Central Texas, my family — like so many others — suffered a heartbreaking and deeply personal loss,” he said.
He asked for privacy for his family
“We are grieving alongside countless Texans whose lives have been upended by this tragedy,” the mourning singer shared.
He concluded, “Right now, we kindly ask for privacy and space as we mourn, support each other, and begin to process what comes next for our family. Thank you for your love, prayers, and compassion.”
