17-year-old TikTok star Sana Yousaf was shot and killed in Islamabad, Pakistan, and the whole story is honestly just heartbreaking.
Sana had just turned 17 when she was fatally shot inside her home on a Monday.
Police later confirmed her death and arrested the man they believe did it. He was seen hanging around outside her house for hours before the attack.
The alleged killer had been rejected multiple times

Islamabad police said the guy who killed her was 22 and had been trying to get in touch with Sana for a while.
She apparently turned him down again and again.
Rizvi, the city’s police chief, said, “It was a case of repeated rejections. The boy was trying to reach out to her time and again.”
He also called it “a gruesome and cold-blooded murder.”
Sana was a beloved presence on social media

Sana had a huge follower base online. She was especially big on TikTok, with over 800,000 fans.
People loved her lip-sync videos, skincare tips, beauty promos, and stylish outfits. She had that charm people just clicked with.
She also liked sharing clips of cars and random fun stuff with her friends. Sometimes she’d just post herself eating pizza or laughing about something silly.
Her fans really felt connected to her.
Her final post added to the heartbreak
The last video Sana posted was her celebrating her birthday.
She was cutting a cake under pink balloons, just looking happy and excited.
That clip went up only hours before she was killed.
Tributes poured in from devastated fans

After the news broke, fans flooded the comments with love and disbelief.
Lots of people wrote “Rest in Peace” or “Justice for Sana.”
One person said, “This is so awful. A literal 17 year old with so much innocence, killed for what?”
Another commented, “Can’t believe this ????”.
Someone else wrote, “Nobody is safe in this country! This is so heartbreaking!!”
Violence against women remains widespread in Pakistan
What happened to Sana sadly isn’t a one-time thing.
Violence against girls and women in Pakistan is a serious problem.
A recent study said that in just one year, over 24,000 cases of abductions and kidnappings were reported across the country.
Alarming statistics reveal the scope of abuse

That same report also counted more than 2,000 cases of domestic violence and over 500 so-called “honor killings.”
More than 5,000 rapes were also reported, and the worst part? Conviction rates were still under two percent for all of those crimes.
That’s barely anything.
Many women suffer abuse within their own homes
According to the UNFPA in Pakistan, 28 percent of women between the ages of 15 and 49 have faced physical violence.
Six percent have experienced sexual violence. And 34 percent of married women have gone through physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from their husbands.
It’s a lot. And it’s mostly happening behind closed doors.
Rejection often leads to tragic consequences for women
There have been plenty of other cases where women got attacked just for saying no to a guy.
It’s a pattern. A terrifying one. And it must be broken.
