Justin Bieber admitted to having once told Hailey Bieber she would ‘never be on the cover of Vogue’ before fans started telling him it was a ‘mean’ thing to say, driving him to change the caption of his post.
The singer had written a scathing caption
While Hailey Bieber made it on the cover of Vogue magazine last week, it seems her husband had thought that would ‘never’ happen.
He responded to Hailey’s cover shot on Instagram telling the story.
Bieber shared he had once told his wife she’d ‘never’ make it
Under a picture of Hailey’s cover shot, the Sorry singer wrote, “Yo, this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight, I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue. Yikes, I know, so mean. For some reason because I felt so disrespected, I thought I gotta get even.”
He further shared what the fight was like
“Think as we mature we realise that we’re not helping anything by getting even, we’re honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection,” Bieber continued.
“So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a Vogue cover cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken,” he concluded his message.
Bieber had to change the caption
Fans didn’t like how the Canadian singer brought down his wife in the post, with the backlash causing him to later change the caption to merely a shrugging emoji.
People noticed the change too
“The caption change is crazy,” one person wrote in response to the singer’s edits. Another pointed out, “No s**t you changed the caption after airing dirty laundry like that.”
People commented on how he’d previously requested privacy
Some fans didn’t like how the singer had previously requested that people stay out of his personal life yet mentioned such family matters in a public post.
“You want privacy yet you share a personal moment between you and your wife on social media,” one person wrote.
Hailey recently took a jab at critics
Meanwhile, among her interviews with Vogue magazine, Hailey took a jab at critics in a video titled ‘Inside Hailey Bieber’s Saint Laurent Bag’.
In the video, she gave subtle digs at trolls who spread rumors about her online activities.
She joked about having multiple phones
“This is my phone. Very straightforward, obviously,” she started as she was showing what’s in her bag.
She then pulled out six more phones and joked, “These are a couple more that I keep on me. I really just use them for a lot of the simple stuff like surfing anonymously, commenting, stalked, viewing girls’ pages, making multiple accounts. You know, that kinda thing.”
Hailey doesn’t like the constant gossip
Elsewhere, in her interview with Vogue, Hailey spoke up about how ‘exhausting’ it is to have people constantly gossip about her family.
She said, “And to be doing that all the while going on the internet every day and people being like, ‘They’re getting divorced and They’re this and They’re not happy’: It is such a mindf***. I cannot even begin to explain it. It’s a crazy life to live.”
