If there’s one thing Sabrina Carpenter’s gonna do, it’s serve at the Met Gala.
Sabrina Carpenter’s hit the Met Gala carpet three times now
First time was back in 2022, and she killed it in this golden goddess look by Paco Rabanne. Then she skipped 2023, took a little break, but showed up again in 2024… and brought some extra flair with her. This time she was accompanied by Barry Keoghan.
In the 2025 Met Gala, she and Barry didn’t show up together
Even though they were both at the event, they didn’t exactly walk in side by side or anything. Sabrina showed up solo, but still totally stole attention in her burgundy bodysuit that matched the theme: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
Pharrell designed her whole look
Her outfit was all Pharrell, Louis Vuitton’s menswear creative director now. The whole thing had a tuxedo vibe, sparkly buttons, big bold collar, layered jewelry, and thick, matching heels. She was absolutely breath-taking.
But people on the internet noticed something pretty funny
People on X were quick to point out—literally none of Pharrell’s Met Gala girls were wearing pants.
Sabrina wasn’t the only pantless celeb
Loads of celebs skipped trousers altogether that night, including Blackpink’s Lisa. But her reason was pretty brutal, honestly.
Sabrina said that working with Pharrell was a dream for her
“I’m such a massive fan of Pharrell’s and have been to the show, and I was just like, ‘If I could go this year with him, that would be my dream.’ And it came true,” she told Vogue on the blue carpet.
She was actually told not to wear pants
So turns out, Pharrell had one tiny rule: “He was like, ‘You’re quite short, so no pants for you.’ So here we are. Here we are,” Sabrina said. Short girl problems, I guess.
The NYC breeze was probably not it
NYC weather isn’t exactly warm at night in May, so her legs were definitely feeling that breeze. But weirdly enough, ditching the pants actually helped her in one major way.
Guess she can now take a bathroom break
“Never been to the bathroom once because I’ve never been able to use it in my outfit. So tonight might be the night,” she joked. “We’ll see… And I’m just gonna let everybody know what it looks like. I’m sure it’s just a normal museum bathroom, but I’m excited to find out.”
