A plane crash kickstarted chaos as Motley Crue’s lead singer Vince Neil’s private jet collided with another plane on the runway at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, leaving at least one dead in its wake.
According to officials, the accident took place on Monday just before 3 pm. Four people were on the private jet and one was on the other plane.
What happened in the crash
Learjet 35A, registered to Neil’s business “veered off the runway after landing,” colliding with a Gulfstream 200 parked at a nearby ramp, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and AZ Family.
Neil wasn’t there
According to TMZ, The rockstar wasn’t on the plane but his girlfriend, Rain Andreani, and her friend were aboard, in addition to two pilots.
The women are thankfully alive but sustained injuries and are currently at the hospital. Their dogs are alive, as well.
Neil sent his condolences
Neil’s lawyer said in a statement posted on X accompanied with Neil’s condolences, saying: “Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.”
Bret Michaels sent his condolences, too
According to Michaels, one of the pilots died in the wake of the crash. He wrote a statement on Facebook, saying:
“My deepest sympathy and condolences to the pilot that just passed away in Scottsdale Airpark and the other pilot who was injured, as well as my thoughts and prayers to our family friend Rain, her friends and all those that were injured in the tragic landing.”
There were no deaths from the Gulfstream
Jet Pros, the private jet charter company owning the Gulfstream, confirmed that there were no deaths on its plane.
Officials also reported that one person refused medical help at the scene after the crash.
The plane struggled
A circulating footage showed one plane struggling to securely stop on the runway as it crashed into the parked plane. The impact was so powerful the stationary plane moved from its place for several yards before coming to a halt.
Scottsdale officials explained what went wrong
Scottsdale officials explained in a statement that the left main landing gear on the Learjet failed when it touched down, leading to the collision.
The jet was found on the tarmac as emergency vehicles and personnel stood nearby.
Not the first crash in 2025
67 people were killed on January 29 when a DC Black Hawk military helicopter and an American Airlines jet crashed into each other mid-air at Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC. It took days for officials to be able to find and identify the bodies.
Another plane crashed
On January 31, an ambulance jet carrying six people crashed into a residential area in a busy Philadelphia street and exploded. The six people onboard died and in addition to one person on the ground.
