In addition to well-known films like Dune: Part Two, A Complete Unknown, and The Brutalist, this year’s nominations show a year filled with exciting and varied cinematic accomplishments, as well as some surprises.

Emilia Pérez was the center of attention due to her record-breaking 13 nominations, which included Best Picture and Actress in a Supporting Role.

Competing against Ariana Grande, Monica Barbaro of A Complete Unknown, Felicity Jones of The Brutalist, and Isabella Rossellini of Conclave in the final category.
I’m Still Here surprised with a nomination
I’m Still Here, a foreign-language picture, was unexpectedly nominated, while other well-known films like Sing Sing and A Real Pain were not.
Major actresses were snubbed this year
Lead actresses Nicole Kidman for Babygirl and Angelina Jolie for Maria were this year’s biggest and unexpected snubs. Even Marianne Jean-Baptiste, the Golden Globe winner in the same category, did not receive a nomination for her role in Hard Truths.
Academy delayed nominations due to wildfires
The Oscars nominations were initially delayed due to the LA wildfires.
To celebrate LA’s tenacity, Academy President Janet Yang and CEO Bill Kramer announced that the ceremony will be redesigned with an emphasis on ‘compassion and community’.
