An urgent call from his doctor led to immediate surgery
Before flying out to Los Angeles to appear on “Good Morning America” and promote his new book Life’s Fragile Moments, Julian got an urgent call from his doctor.
Two concerning spots on his skin, one turned out to be melanoma
Julian had surgery on two spots on his skin — one on his shoulder and the other on his forearm. Sadly, one of them turned out to be melanoma.
Julian’s holiday plans were interrupted by the emergency surgery
“After finishing up with GMA, I received a message from Dr. Tess, urgently asking me to return to Los Angeles,” Lennon explained.
“I had two spots on my skin, one of which was melanoma, and it needed to be operated on immediately. So, instead of going home to put up my Christmas tree and relax, I flew directly back to LA, after finishing up all my work in New York, and went straight from the airport to surgery.”
His dermatologist was key in saving his life

Julian credited his dermatologist, saying, “My lovely dermatologist [was] the one who caught and operated on my mole skin cancer a few years ago, and literally saved my life.” He posted a few black-and-white photos before and after the operation.
The surgery went well, but Julian is still waiting for biopsy results
Julian shared that the surgery was successful, but he’s still waiting on the biopsy results. He’s not sure if they’ll come back before Christmas.
Julian expressed thanks to his doctors for their quick action
He thanked his doctors for managing to organize the surgery so quickly, saying, “For once again, hopefully saving my life.”
In 2020, Julian had a cancerous mole removed
It’s not his first encounter with cancer. Julian revealed that, in 2020, he had a mole removed from his head after a biopsy showed it was cancerous.
Julian urged his followers to get regular skin checks
Julian encouraged everyone to get checked, saying, “It only takes a short while to do so, and you may just be saving your own life, at the end of the day. Please, for the sake of yourself, your family, and your friends, just go to your doctor and do what must be done.”
He reminded everyone that health is key for a long life
“I love life, and I want to live for a very long time, and this is one way, and a choice, that could determine your future,” Julian said.
Julian’s experience shows just how important it is to stay on top of our health. Wishing him healthy, happy days ahead!
