One of the most stressful parts of going on vacation anywhere is the days leading up to your departure. That’s when you must squeeze everything into a suitcase. No matter how long we are going away, it seems that we can never quite pack enough things to bring with us. You never know when you will need 11 extra pairs of underwear, right?
For fashionistas, packing cute outfits to change into and wear throughout your days on vacation is a must. There is nothing quite like showing off new looks while away with friends or family. However, we don’t always have room for everything we want to bring — until now.
Suitcase Tetris is a real thing

It takes a true skill to fit everything into a suitcase and ensure it doesn’t wrinkle or rip. Many people pack, unpack, and repack to safely get that last dress inside. Plus, we don’t want to pack so wildly that when it comes time to repack to come home, we can’t replicate it.
Some clothes are harder than others

When you think about what you want to bring away, many people struggle because some things take up too much space in our travel luggage. Sometimes, we leave things behind simply because we don’t think we can find the space to get them in there. This can ultimately be unpleasant when we’re away and wish we had our favorite pair of jeans.
That’s why packing hacks have become the new craze on social media

Between ways to store your makeup, lotions, and other accessories to finding ways to organize your suitcase, people have come up with unique and thoughtful ways to bring everything you want and need along with you while you travel.
People love sharing their packing hacks online

Between Instagram and TikTok, influencers and those who love to travel continuously share hacks online for traveling and packing. And we all know that we are all suckers for a good hack — especially one that will save us stress and save us time.
Recently, one TikTok user blessed us all with the best way to pack jeans in a suitcase when traveling on vacation or going away.
The hack is called the “sushi jeans” hack

And it’s pretty much exactly what it sounds: a way to fold your jeans into a tight little sushi roll so they fit into a suitcase easily. Jeans can be bulky and take up much room if you fold them the old-fashioned way, creating chaos for those who want to bring other clothing items.
Plus, when you want to bring multiple pairs of jeans, you have to save room where you can.
TikTok user Go with Jo shared her method on her TikTok channel.
First, lay your jeans out on the floor flat

Smooth out all the creases and lay them out flat. Next, you fold one leg on top of the other so they are pretty much even and smooth. You want to ensure they are symmetrical and aligned on top of each other.
Fold in the little flap of the crotch area

To ensure there’s no creasing or extra wrinkling when you take them out, fold in that extra denim layer inside the jeans — it should be aligned with the back pocket of the jeans. As the TikTok user says, it should be a nice, even leg shape.
Then, fold your jeans from the bottom up

Starting from the bottom, fold your jeans in half. Your jeans should be folded in half with the bottoms touching the top. Next, you begin to “roll” your jeans in from the knee area to the top, where the bottom and waistline meet — like a sushi roll. Keep your rolling tight and even.
Once you hit the top, you’re all set!

Keep rolling tightly and evenly until you reach the top—then, you’re all set. You end up with a small, tight pair of jeans that resemble a sushi roll. They can fit easily in any suitcase and ensure you have much more room for other items of clothing and accessories you wish to pack alongside them for your vacation.
And it doesn’t stop at jeans

Along with “sushi jeans,” there are many ways to replicate this hack with other clothing items.
Many people suggest also doing this for shirts and sweaters, towels, bathing suits, and even underwear to save space in luggage. The smaller you can make your clothing, the more you can pack alongside it. Happy travels!
