Caught Between Cultural Sensitivity and Academic Integrity: A Teacher’s Dilemma
In a world where cultural sensitivity is paramount, one teacher found herself in a moral quandary. After discovering that one of her ESL students, known as ‘K’, had plagiarized an essay, she followed school policy and gave the student an ‘F’. However, the school administration argued that K ‘didn’t know better’, leading to a heated debate. Despite her firm stance on academic integrity, the teacher reluctantly changed the grade to a 50%. Now, she’s left wondering if she did the right thing. Let’s see what the internet has to say about this contentious situation…

NTA for giving the correct grade for work they didn’t do and you knew was stolen work of others. You are TA for treating them differently due to you didn’t want confrontation so due to that you treated one student with benefits and not actually working while holding others accountable for their actions of trying to steal others work you are actively telling your other students it’s ok to do it as long as you can kick up enough of a fuss to me you need to hear to grow a back bone and treat all the students equally and stand up for the ones doing the right thing and hold the ones doing wrong all accountable for their actions

Plagiarism is plagiarism, it’s a process not just a word. You can plagiarise in any language so saying she doesn’t speak English as an excuse is both bullshit and frankly racist or at least condescending as f**k to every nation outside of English speaking. Your punishment is a 0, where I am from it will get you thrown out of the university. You will not complete your degree and can be banned from Attending it again.
