Who can forget when Kim Kardashian BURST onto the shapewear scene only to quickly back out of said scene after her brand had a VERY major flaw.
The flaw wasn’t in the size range. The flaw wasn’t in the color range, either.

With 9 different shades and sizes ranging from XXS – 4XL, the brand was set to be incredibly inclusive.
The big, BIG flaw was in the name— Kimono.

Sure, it was a play on Kim’s name (???) but it was also MEGA cultural appropriation of the traditional Japanese garment, the kimono.
After immense backlash, Kim announced she was rebranding her shapewear.

“When I announced the name of my shapewear line, I did so with the best intentions in mind,” Kim wrote .
“My brands and products are built with inclusivity and diversity at their core and after careful thought and consideration, I will be launching my Solutionwear brand under a new name.”

“I will be in touch soon. Thank you for your understanding and support always.”
That update was almost a month ago, and fans had heard nothing since!

Until this weekend, when Kim thankfully shared an update on the shapewear launch on her Twitter this past weekend!
“Because I wanted everything to be really seamless and feel really good, we printed everything inside all of the garments,” Kim said.
“So now I have to come up with a solution and not be wasteful because we have printed almost two million garments so far with the Kimono name.”
After showing a few options of how to cover up the logo, Kim assured her fans she wouldn’t be sending the garments to a landfill.

“I just want you guys to have a little progress report and know that I’m working really hard to figure out how to not be wasteful and change the name at the same time.”
Kimmy K, the environmentalist we deserve.

Will you be buying Kim’s solutionwear?
