Kevin Hart took to Instagram to share an emotional video that details his recovery since his nearly-fatal car crash in September.

On September 1st, Kevin was a passenger in a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, when the driver — a friend of his — lost control of the vehicle.
The driver sent himself, his fiancé, and Kevin crashing into a wooden fence around 1 a.m. on Mulholland Highway in Malibu.

TMZ reported that the car crashed about 10 feet off the road and into a ditch, leaving everyone involved with "major injuries."
In early October, Kevin released a statement for his friend that was driving the night of the accident and his fiancé, through his attorney:

“I have nothing but love for Jared and wish him and Rebecca a speedy recovery,” the statement read.
However, we had yet to hear from Kevin more directly until now.

The video begins with text that reads: "September 1st, 2019 I was involved in an accident."
“Basically what you realize is that you’re not in control," he began.

"No matter how much you think you’re in control, you’re not in control," he continued, as footage of his totaled vehicle is revealed.
"My world was forever changed," the video reads.

“At the end of the day, it can all be over," he said, as footage of himself in recovery after his operation is played.
The video — clearly shot over a series of weeks — documents Kevin's entire recovery.

The beginning shows him bedridden, needing support from nurses just to stand up, hardly able to take steps — but by the end of the video he is in physical therapy, and eventually, doing full-on workouts.
“When God talks, you gotta listen,” he continued.

“I swear, life is funny. Because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being the things that you needed the most."
"And in this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down."

"When you’re moving too fast and doing too much, sometimes you can’t see the things that you’re meant to see."
"But after my accident I see things differently," he went on. "I see life from a whole new perspective.”

“Don’t take today for granted because tomorrow is not promised.”

The video also revealed Kevin sharing an intimate moment with his wife, Eniko Parrish, daughter, Heaven, and sons, Kenzo and Kash.
"I’m thankful for my family, and my friends,” he said.

“I’m thankful for the people that simply ride with me and have been with me because you stood by me. My fans, I’m thankful for all of your love and support.”
“More importantly, I’m thankful for God,” he added. “I’m thankful for life. I’m thankful for simply still being here.”

At the end of the video, doctors explained to Kevin that it would likely take a full year to recover completely.
“Whatever it is, I’m not disrespecting the time. I’m not in a rush,” he said.
