Arnold Schwarzenegger Revealed Chris Pratt Had To Earn His Approval At The Gym

Chris Pratt may be Arnold Schwarzenegger's son-in-law, but this was a title he had to earn!

How you ask? Well, given the fact that this Arnold the Terminator we're talking about, through the gym, of course!

In case you didn't know, Chris Pratt got married to Katherine Schwarzenegger this past summer!

The pair got married in a romantic and intimate ceremony in California after less than two years of dating.

Given the fact that Katherine is Arnold Schwarzenegger 's daughter, yes, this does mean that Arnold is Chris's father-in-law!

Talk about pressure!

We can only hope that these two bond over the fact that they're both actors who regularly take on villains!

Before Katherine, Chris was married to "Mom" actress Anna Faris for several years.

They even have a son together! Six-year-old Jack.

Thankfully, these exes are on good terms, making them able to co-parent like pros!

Anna even wished the happy couple congratulations when they first announced their engagement:

"I'm so happy for you both!!! I love you guys!!" the actress and podcase host also wrote on Katherine's post.

But anyways, back to Chris having pretty much the most intimidating father-in-law, ever...

I mean, just look at him!

He's the Terminator for crying out loud.

Recently, the actor stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to discuss his new film "Terminator: Dark Fate" as well as the devastating forest fires in California.

The conversation also turned to how he feels about his new son-in-law.

Arnold started by saying that he's very happy that "The Guardians of the Galaxy" actor has joined his family.

He added that Pratt is a "really great guy" who's "really kind" to his daughter.

This is a dealbreaker for a protective father like him!

Arnold revealed that Chris may be too great, though, since Arnold felt a little intimated by Chris when Katherine first started dating him.

"I was blown away when my daughter was telling me that she was going out with him,” the Commando actor said.

“[I was like], ‘Do you have to be so competitive? I mean, do you have to have a guy that is taller than me, that is bigger than me, that is doing bigger movies than me … makes more money than me? What is going on here?’ “

He continued: "It was really wild all a sudden to have this guy in the family."

But Arnold was still happy for the addition.

Another thing Arnold revealed about Chris is that he asked for his daughter's hand in marriage in a very "traditional" way.

But he wasn't invited to the bachelor party!

For obvious reasons, of course. Arnold said, "I would have made sure that everything was cool there."

Basically, Anold confirmed that "pumping iron was the decision-making factor" when figuring out whether Chris would be a good addition to his family or not.

This worked out well in Chris's favor since he had asked his future father-in-law if they could work out together the first time they met.

Chris said he needed the "inside scoop to the pumping iron."

When it comes to fitness, Chris's abs aren't just for show!

Arnold called him a "strong guy" and even said that he's "proud of him." Aww!

During the interview, Arnold revealed the way Pratt won him over.

And no surprise here: it all had to do with the gym!

In the end, though, it was an incline press that really won the Terminator over.

Arnold said: "When I watched him make his moves in the gym, the incline press specifically did it. [That’s] why I wanted him to become my son-in-law. It was the incline press.”

Now that Arnold has spilled his feelings on what it's like to have Chris as his son-in-law, we need to hear Chris's side!

All we know is that it's probably not easy to have someone as intimating as Arnold as your father-in-law.

But if anyone can do it, it's definitely Chris!
