Prince Slams Katy Perry And Ed Sheeran In New Unearthed Letters

Prince's new memoir, The Beautiful Ones, unearths some of the musicians final thoughts about life, love and, of course, the music industry.

Prince superfan and writer Dan Piepenbring was hired as a co-author to work on the Prince's memoir back in 2016.

Now, Piepenbring is speaking about Prince's posthumous memoir in a new interview with the Guardian.

During the interview, Piepenbring recalled some comments Prince made about the state of the music industry.

Quoting one of Prince's letters, he said: "We need to tell them that they keep trying to ram Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran down our throats and we don’t like it no matter how many times they play it."

"The Beautiful Ones" includes pages Prince had already written, as well as an essay by Piepenbring about working with the late musician.

The book also contains rare photos, handwritten song lyrics, as well as images of items Piepenbring found in the vaults at Prince's residence, Paisley Park.

"The sheer quantity of paper was surprising," Piepenbring recalled.

"In one room you’d find something from 1979, and within arm’s reach there’d be something from 2002."

The Beautiful Ones hits bookstores on October 29th.
