Kim Kardashian recently revealed on the latest episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians , what she almost named her youngest son, Psalm, and it’s… Different — to say the least.
On the latest episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, Kim opens up about how she and Kanye came to name their youngest son “Psalm”.
Turns out, they almost named him something completely different…

But first, let’s talk about the names of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s four children for a minute.
They are all equally unique, with fascinating stories behind them.
First up, we have North.
North West’s name is more than just a cute play on geography — there’s an even deeper meaning behind it.
A source revealed that Kim and Kanye’s inspiration for naming their daughter “North” came about because “North means highest power.”
Kim and Kanye named their second born, “Saint”.
While there were a ton of fans guessing that they would name their second child “South” to coordinate with North’s name, Kimye decided on “Saint” instead.
A source revealed that his name was inspired by Kim’s “difficult pregnancy”.
Next came Chicago.
Chicago West was named after her father’s hometown, the windy city — pretty self-explanatory! But Kim revealed she hardly ever calls her by her full name. Instead, she’s shortened it to “Chi”.
Last but not least, we have the little man of the hour, Psalm West.
Back in May, Kimye welcomed their fourth child — a baby boy.
Once his name was revealed, fans were a bit confused.
Kim and Kanye are known for picking out non-traditional names for their children, and we love them for it. But the name “Psalm” was certainly not the name they had led us to believe they were going to choose.
You see, before Psalm’s arrival, Kim — more than once — hinted that she may be naming him after her late father, Robert.
In an interview, she mentioned she had considered choosing a traditional Armenian name, but was unable to land on one that she liked.
She explained at that point, the only name on her shortlist was “Robert”.
The same name as her father and younger brother.
“I was truthfully thinking about just naming him ‘Rob,’ after my brother,” she said .
“But then it’s North, Saint, Chicago, Rob. It doesn’t really go.”
“But I was really feeling that and my brother approved it, so that’s our one kind of name . I like ‘Rob West,’ but I don’t like ‘Robert West.'”
So, naturally, when Psalm’s name was announced, fans were completely thrown off.
And now they’re even more thrown off after the latest episode of KUWTK , when Kim said she almost named him “Ye”.
“Ye” as in, Kanye’s nickname, and the name of his 2018 album.
The name was gonna be ‘Ye,'” Kim explained . “But Kanye doesn’t like Ye because Ye doesn’t mean anything.”
“So, we looked at every name in the Bible that had ‘Ye’ at the beginning,” she went on. “And the only name was Yechiel.”
“Kylie called at the last minute and was like, ‘No, Psalm and Saint sound good together.'”
“The kids all call him PsalmYe,” she added.
Fans seemed unanimously relieved to find out that Psalm’s name did not end up being named “Ye” instead.
