Never Before Seen Photo Of Jared Leto's 'Suicide Squad' Joker Surfaced Online

Oh, Jared Leto. Before anyone jumps down anyone else's throat let us make one thing clear: He did the best he could with what he had.

That being said, let's jump right into the article.

Let's have a chat, dear reader.

DC

A chat about 2016's Suicide Squad.

It was a simpler time. Guardians Of The Galaxy had come out two years prior, and the movie-going public had fallen in love with the upbeat campiness of it all.

And so, DC Universe decided to capitalize on the public's love.

DC

A mere two years later.

They made a wacky, kind of campy movie about a bunch of murderers going after an evil witch. I know, it doesn't sound all that fun.

And so, the stage was set.

DC

Would DC finally make it to the lofty heights of "pretty good?"

Or, like Icarus before them, would they fly too close to the sun and come crashing down into the Aegean Sea?

I think we all know the answer.

DC

Yeah, it was a critical flop.

People liked Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Will Smith as Deadshot and... erm... uh... they liked the trailer with Bohemian Rhapsody in it!

Let's have another chat, reader.

DC

Totally unrelated to the first chat, I swear.

This time, we're going to talk about playing the Joker. Because before 2016, it had been a pretty lucrative thing to do.

Look at all the great performances throughout history.

DC

We'll skip the 1960s Batman and go right to Jack Nicholson. His performance was awesome and will live on through our hearts.

So was the legendary Heath Ledger performance, and the nerdier people reading will also remember that Mark Hamill did a stellar job.

So, when it came time for 'Suicide Squad'...

DC

It seemed that DC needed someone familiar to bring people into the theatres.

Someone all the normie non-comic book readers would instantly recognize and want to see on the screen.

And so, they went with their most popular villain.

DC

Calendar Man. Just kidding, it was the Joker.

But who was going to play this iconic villain? And how would they set their Joker apart from all the others in history?

Well, they started by getting Jared Leto.

DC

Which is a very good choice (or so they thought).

He was fresh off an Oscar win, and he was still nestled deep in the hearts of both his music fans and his movie fans.

And so, once again, the stage was set.

DC

Would Jared Leto be the next great Joker?

Would his performance be the one we remembered? Well, yes, but not for a good reason.

The crowd did not go wild.

DC

Mostly, they fell in love with Harley Quinn, which, to be fair, is something that would happen to any of us.

Mostly, Jared Leto's Joker got made fun of.

DC

A lot.

Not so much for his acting skills, but with the underwhelming parts he was given.

And then there was the makeup.

DC

Oh, the makeup.

It was certainly something. Some people thought it was too much, others thought it fit in with him.

But before the final version, there was a different look to him!

Here's the photo!

What do you think about it? Which version do you like better?
