The topic of vaccinations is seemingly everywhere nowadays; with a seemingly growing collection of people buying into the unsubstantiated, downright ludicrous notion that you shouldn't vaccinate your kids or yourself, while the rest of us realize the obvious important and life-saving benefits of vaccinations.

In a heartwarming video that has since gone viral, a father pretends to get vaccines while holding his young daughter to try and help her to overcome her fear of needles.
The nurse administering the shots is more than happy to play along to try and help the young girl to get through what can be a scary experience for kids.
The nurse wipes down both of their arms in preparation for the needle; however, as she goes to inject the father he tells his daughter to look away quickly, and the nurse then pretends to give him the vaccine to which the father lets out a little 'Oooh!'
The daughter then emulates her dad's noises when she receives her injection, all with a smile on her face.
The importance of showing kids that adults don't like needles either but that it is important for our health is crucial for children.
Not only does this help to show his daughter that needles are nothing to be scared of, the idea of having to do things that we don't necessarily want to do for the good of our health is an incredibly important message to impress on kids. The father is not only removing fear of one stimulus but is conveying an important life lesson.
The video has, unsurprisingly, gone viral across social media. Parents and adults alike from across the internet flocked to praise the fantastic way that this father handled the situation.
There were obviously some people smashing all caps on and screaming something along the lines of, "VACCINES ARE TURNING YOUR BABIES INSIDE OUT AND MAKING THEM INTO TELEPORTS WHICH WILL TRANSPORT ALIENS INTO YOUR HOME BUT THEY'RE REALLY THE GOVERNMENT AS WELL, AND IT'LL DO OTHER BAD THINGS TOO, BUT BE SHEEP I GUESS!" However, the less said about those people the better.

In today's internet landscape, do not let yourself be swayed by unsubstantiated, hideous fear-mongering from people who think that vaccines are turning children into government drones, or bottle rockets, or whatever they're claiming today.
We should be protecting and educating children, not exposing them to diseases and immersing them in a world which revels in the dangers of unsubstantiated, violent rhetoric being spread as fact.
