Kourtney Kardashian Refers To Spanking As 'Beating Children' After Fight With Kris Jenner's Boyfriend

Whether or not parents should be spanking their kids is a controversial topic that causes tons of disagreements. Some people believe that you shouldn't be striking your children no matter the circumstances, and others argue that since they were spanked as a child and turned out fine, that it must not carry any long term negative effects.

Kourtney Kardashian, the oldest of the Kardashian clan and mother of three, is the latest celebrity to take a stance.

On a recent episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kourtney got into a heated argument with Kris Jenner's boyfriend, Corey Gamble, about how to properly discipline kids.

It all started when Kourtney explained that her daughter, Penelope, had attempted to scratch their nanny.

Corey immediately stated that if Penelope were ever to scratch him that he'd "whip her ass" and "give her a spanking, for sure."

These comments definitely did not sit right with Kourtney.

Kourtney responded by declaring, that Corey "will never be with my kids alone, and if he does that in front of any of us, there will be a [expletive] issue!”

Corey did conclude that he doesn't intend "to discipline" Kourtney's kids.

Regardless, Kourtney maintained that they are "never going to agree" and that she feels "uncomfortable" bringing her children around him.

During the episode's airing, Kourtney took to Twitter to elaborate on her views.

She didn't hold back.

After someone on Twitter said, "Not trying to be the parent shamer or a judgy person but you need to get your kids in check now & take it serious now before they older because it only gets worse," Kourtney clapped back.

Immediately, fans began arguing with Kourtney.

As one Twitter user pointed out, discipline needs to happen if children are physically hurting others, as Penelope was trying to do by scratching, but Kourtney insisted that physical harm was not the answer.

Others argued that kids listen to actions, not words.

Kourtney responded by saying that she doesn't believe there should be no consequences for children's bad behaviors, but that she and Scott do not support capital punishment for their children.

Whose side are you on?

Do you agree with Kourtney that spanking children isn't an appropriate form of punishment? Or do you believe Corey was right to suggest his own form of discipline and Kourtney is overreacting? Let us know!
