There are a lot of new inventions out there, and it’s hard to keep up with them all. Is every single one of them a grand slam? Nope, not exactly. But every so often, you hear a story of someone’s pioneering invention that makes you stop and think, “Wow, why did no one think of that sooner?”
This is one of those inventions.
Some geniuses make their mark in fields such as physics, literature, philosophy, or any other such subjects
And that’s all fine and good for those people. However, one young girl has been dubbed a junior genius for her work in the field of cheese, and I have to admit, I’m much more inclined to read about her invention than I am to read about anyone else’s.
This nine-year-old has been hitting headlines for sneaking cheese in a lip balm for her to eat during class.
The young girl has been heralded as a “genius”, a “hero”, and a downright pioneer for her brilliant idea to slip wonderful, wonderful cheese into class for during the long school days.
Valerie Schremp Hahn shared the photo of her daughter’s contraption on Twitter.
Alongside the picture she explained, “My 9-year-old daughter has taken an old lip balm tube and filled it with cheese so she can eat it in class.”
Twitter quickly devoured the story and spread it like a fine cream cheese across a red onion and chive, lightly toasted New York bagel.
Ms Hahn’s tweet has received a staggering 67,000 likes in just 48 hours!
Ms Hahn also wrote in a follow up tweet that, “My mom (her grandma) just posted on FB: ‘This kid is going places! Maybe to the principal’s office, but she’s going places!'”.
It’s good to see the older generations appreciating the ingenuity of today’s youth.
The young genius’ mother also tweeted out that she would be informing the girl’s teacher!
Ms Hahn was quickly dubbed by the internet as a “cheese narc”, which is just my absolute favorite phrase ever seen on the internet. However, the mother explained that she was simply sharing the funny story with her daughter’s teacher as she’d found it so hilarious.
The young girl’s teacher was apparently quite impressed with her ingenuity.
The cheese genius’ teacher approached her mother after receiving the note but was far from angry.
“Her teacher saw my note and thought it was hilarious but did not detect the 2 (!) cheese tubes she snuck bites/licks of during standardized test breaks. Also, she loves the positive tweets, especially ones saying ‘the future is female.'”
Apparently the young girl got the idea from YouTube.
In an interview with BuzzFeed , the girl was quoted as saying, “I was just looking on YouTube because I was bored and I found this video and I decided to do it. I just took some of my dad’s cheese, sliced it up, and put it in the chapstick container.”
The Twitterverse has been showering the young inventor with unanimous praise.
And why shouldn’t they? This girl is clearly going places. She’s ahead of her time. She’s making her mark, leaving a name for herself. She stuck cheese inside a tube of lip balm to snack on in class because she doesn’t just think outside the box, she rejects the box altogether!
Honestly, this little girl deserves all the praise she can get, and then some.
A few people online have lovingly dubbed her “Snack MacGyver,” and others have suggested she make a second tube to fill with a stick of pepperoni so she can really upgrade her covert snack time.
I think we should all really take a moment and appreciate how wholesome this story really is.
It is not often that something receives such unanimously positive responses on Twitter, and yet one young girl managed to do it with a simple block of cheese and a lip balm.
Hopefully this young girl will never let her imaginative spark go out, as the internet is predicting great things from her in the future! If I’d have thought of something this genius I’d still be bringing it up years down the line, “Oh, me? Yeah back in fourth grade I invented a cheese stick, it’s no big deal, just changed the way we think about portable cheese, it’s whatever.”
