Netflix Developing 'Golden Girls' Style Comedy By Cyndi Lauper And Jane Lynch

Jane Lynch let slip at the Creative Arts Emmys that she's helping to develop a comedy that will oddly and brilliantly resemble The Golden Girls.

Which is exactly what we needed to hear in 2019.

Before you get mad, yes, we know that there is nothing that can compare to the actual 'Golden Girls'.

NBC

The show was ahead of its time in some ways, and not to mention, just downright hilarious.

Luckily, what's coming up isn't a reboot or revival.

But the upcoming show will definitely have the same kind of vibe that Golden Girls had.

Personally, I think we could use that kind of humor.

Jane Lynch is the one who put it all together, and we couldn't be more thankful.

She's a hilarious woman, so I'm sure whatever she creates, will be just as funny as she is.

She was at the Creative Arts Emmys recently, where she gave as much info as she could about the upcoming show.

That being said, she couldn't give too much away.

Lynch said it was an easy win.

FOX

“I pitched a show to Netflix and they bought it. I don’t know if I can even tell you, but it’s with Cyndi Lauper, so there! We’ll see.”

But she's really good at hyping us up.

FOX

"And there will be two other people who haven’t been cast yet. But it's kind of a ‘Golden Girls’ for today.”

Lynch expanded very little on what the show is going to be about.

IMDb

"We’re our age, I’m almost 60 and she’s 65, and we’re looking for our next act, without ever having had husbands of children."

Back in July, Carol Leifer wrote on Facebook:

"It’s official, heading out next with a new half-hour comedy, starring Jane Lynch and Cyndi Lauper,"

She continued with:

“A writer’s dream to work with these two legends. Can’t wait to see where we land…”

We're just as excited as she is!

Netflix hasn't commented on anything quite yet.

But we're sure now that talk is starting to go around, they'll announce something soon enough.

Are you excited for it?

I mean, three brilliant women putting their minds together for a show? Who wouldn't be?
