DIYer Transforms Her 'Cave-Like' Laundry Room Into A Cozy Farmhouse Hideaway

Laundry rooms aren't very exciting spaces. Arguably, they're homeowners' least favorite room, given the nuisance of the task that occurs in these rooms: laundry. Not a soul this earth has ever been heard saying, "I just can't wait to spend my Sunday doing laundry!" Not one.

And many of us have learned to hate doing laundry, after many washing mishaps. Shrunken sweaters, lost socks, and red-dyed white sheets and underwear haunt these walls.

However, one woman is making laundry great again thanks to her super trendy laundry room makeover.

This is DIYer and decorator Jenna Sue's laundry room pre-renovation.

Well, there was no laundry room just yet. She and her partner, Brad, decided to relocate the washer and dryer to the basement.

As she says in her blog post, the space in the basement was almost "cave-like" and basically like a closet.

It doesn't make anyone race downstairs to clean their clothes!

A lot of laundry rooms also become a storage space of sorts, which is what happened to Jenna. It really made the space more cramped.

Jenna and Brad cleared everything out, including the ceiling, walls, HVAC, and even the floor to make room for the washer and dryer.

They ended up redesigning the walls, carefully placing them in areas so as not to create the same awkward space like before.

I'm more than confident that their hard work paid off, and they're super happy about the finished product!

They opted for a rustic farmhouse look, and it makes me want to hang out in their laundry room, which is such a weird thing to say when you think of damp forgotten laundry rooms.

What a great idea to slide the washer and dryer right into the wall — it definitely makes the room feel bigger and provides more space!

I would have never thought to hang pictures in a laundry room — it really makes it feel like a real room. Also, the color palette is so cozy, yet trendy.

Jenna and Brad show that laundry rooms don't have to be uninviting spaces.

If you're going to spend some time down there, you might as well make it just as warm and welcoming as any other room in your home!

Jenna and Brad's creation is definitely laundry room goals.
