YouTuber Won't Face Animal Abuse Charges After Footage Of Her Allegedly Spitting On Her Dog Goes Viral

In early August, YouTuber Brooke Houts accidentally uploaded unedited video footage to her account that included shots of her reportedly slapping, spitting, and yelling at her doberman, Sphinx.

People immediately began calling for an investigation of animal abuse into Houts' behavior.

TMZ is now reporting that Houts will not face animal abuse charges.

According to TMZ, the LAPD's Animal Cruelty Task Force finished their investigation and determined that the evidence does not support criminal charges, though the video isn't easy to watch.

Houts has not commented on the situation after her initial statement.

Shortly after the footage was uploaded, Houts had made a statement on her Twitter page, reading, " I want to address the uncut footage. On the day in particular that the video was filmed… things in my outside life have been less than exceptional. That being said, this does not justify me yelling at my dog in the way that I did."

"However, when my 75 lb. Doberman is jumping up in my face with his mouth open, I do, as a dog parent, have to show him that this behavior is unacceptable."

“I want to clarify that I am not a dog abuser or animal abuser in any way, shape, or form… Did I get in his face and take unnecessary actions towards him? Yes I did, and that was not the way I should’ve handled the situation. Did I spit on my dog? No.”

“I want to thank you for pointing out things that you think are wrong and discussing them, because the world needs more of that,” she said.

“I hope you give me the chance to prove that these statements about myself do align with my actions.”

Houts has not uploaded any videos on her channel since the incident, nor has she been active on social media.
