This Beauty Guru Youtuber Didn’t QUITE Get The Wedding Dress She Thought She Had

Online shopping is always a little bit of a gamble. Just because something looks one way on your screen doesn't necessarily mean that it will arrive looking even remotely similar. Nothing in this life is guaranteed I guess. Sorry to break it to you.

Little old me thought that being an influencer would allow one to bypass these kinds of problems, but as it turns out, certain online purchases are just universally doomed to fail no matter who you are.

Ever wonder why wedding dresses literally take like nine months to arrive once their ordered?

It's because they're supposed to fit you perfectly, and aren't generically sized like normal dresses are.

9.9999/10 times, wedding dresses are one of those things that you should definitely be trying on in a store before you purchase it.

Still, one Youtuber celebrity took her chances anyway.

Beauty guru Tina Yong has just under three million Youtube subscribers, so she's pretty in tune with the eb and flow of trending beauty/lifestyle content on the platform.

Yong recently got engaged, and has since been sharing her wedding preparations with her audience.

From the proposal itself to decor and clothing, Yong's videos have showcased every detail of her wedding-planning process.

One of the biggest wedding trends of 2019 is sheer wedding dresses.

They're long and flowy rather than large and poofy, often layered with seemingly see-through tulle that is actually tinted so that nothing shows through.

Yong ordered this dress from the website Wish.

As you can see, the material is sheer and thin, but not completely see-through. That's the assumption that I, a level-headed person, would make anyway.

However, Yong didn't anticipate what a shock the dress would be when it arrived.

"Is there another layer?" she asked as she opened the package, "This one is so sheer!"

Once completely opened, the dress was...um...not what she expected.

"If my mum saw me wearing this down the aisle, she would be mortified!" she continued, "This is very x-rated."

"I assumed there’d be like a nude layer underneath."

To her surprise, the dress was a little more sheer than the photos had led on.

"Oh my god is this see-through?" she exclaimed. "I just can’t get over the fact that you can see my bra, my undies, just everything underneath, like, I might as well be naked!"

Though the dress only cost her $11, she didn't expect it to be completely see-through.

I've seen curtains with more coverage if I'm being completely honest. What exactly was the point of this design choice?

Watch the whole ordeal unfold for yourself.

Though Yong won't be walking down the aisle in that particular gown, her dress shopping adventure can, at the very least, serve as a warning to other online shoppers who may have been considering that product.
