Nelly Rewards Woman $100 For Returning His Lost Bag Containing $300,000

If you found a bag containing $300,000 would you keep it? This is a question that one woman had to ask herself after stumbling upon a cash-filled duffle bag at a bowling alley, belonging to "Country Grammar" rapper, Nelly.

Many may consider this chance encounter to be a stroke of luck, but the woman saw it as a chance to show her integrity, and potentially be rewarded in a big way. Unfortunately, Nelly had other plans.

Nelly is in hot water with fans after reportedly giving a woman $100 for returning his lost bag containing $300,000 in cash.

If you lost a bag filled with cash and someone was kind enough to return it for you instead of taking it for themselves, surely you'd want to compensate them fairly, and fans are seemingly in agreement that $100 is not that.

An Instagram account known as The Neighborhood Talk recently shared a video of a woman and her friends outside of a bowling alley explaining the alleged story.

The woman and the group seem shocked and unimpressed with the "Hot in Here" rapper for his gesture of gratitude.

The clip explains that the woman found a duffle bag filled with $300,000 and instead of taking it, she located the rapper and returned it to him promptly.

In return, he reportedly thanked her and handed her $100 for her troubles.

The video has since gone viral, garnering more than 700,000 views.

Nelly himself commented on the video, thanking the woman again for returning his bag, despite the countless comments from disapproving fans under the post.

"Cap… SUUUUUUPPPPPEEERRRRR CAAPPP …!!" he wrote.

"I would have given it back. After I took my cut. 'Nelly, I found your bag. It had $100 in it,'" one Instagram user commented.

Another person pointed out that someone who takes $300,000 in cash with them when they go bowling is probably the kind of person that can spare more than $100.

"Ew, this is so tacky of him. Nelly... Sir... You're literally going BOWLING with $300K on you and you can't spare this girl more than a hundred dollar bill? Greed is a scary thing, folks," they another.

Another person joked that if they ever find a misplaced item of Nelly's, not to return it.

"Well, now we know if we run up on Nelly bag of money to not be a good citizen," they quipped, while another wrote, "That's just disrespectful."

Someone else joked that if they found the money, they would take it as a blessing.

"I’m not turning away my blessing. That money found me for a reason," they wrote, while another person added that she still made the right decision, regardless.

One person tweeted that if they found the money, they would take it and lay low for a while.

"She did the right thing. No matter how tacky he was about it. She’s gonna get good karma," another Instagram user responded.
