Campbells Wants Us To Use Broth In Our Cocktails Because Nothing Is Sacred Anymore

I am not someone to complain about alcohol. Truly, I'm not. I'm not a top-shelf gal, and I'm certainly not going to pass up a cold beer just because it's not organic. I will enjoy everything poured into the glass in front of me at a dinner party, and I'm the first one to offer bartender duty at a girls night.

However, if there's one thing I'm struggling to get behind, it's a broth-infused cocktail.

Don't get me wrong, I love a savoury mixed drink.

I love a Bloody Mary or an extra dirty vodka martini. I enjoy cocktails that pair well with big, succulent steaks and I don't always need a fruit garnish.

With that being said, I can't stand behind what Campbells is trying to do.

In a recent ad campaign by Campbells, the canned soup and broth company is trying to diversify their product to include cocktails.

No, we're not kidding.

Their "Brothtails" are combinations of popular cocktails and some of their exciting broth offerings, like Thai Chicken Negroni, or Pork Ramen Mezcal Margarita.

Oh, you want to hear more of the wacky combos? For sure, let me continue.

There's the Pho Mango Bourbon Sour, and the Mushroom Truffle Daquiri. If that doesn't sound up your alley, maybe just pour vodka into a carton of the chicken stock you have on hand, and drink up!

As you can imagine, these bold choices have had a very mixed reaction online.

"This is unhinged," wrote one user.

"First of all, how dare you," wrote another.
