Britney Spears Calls Sister Jamie Lynn A 'Scum Person' After Tell-All Book Allegations

Since Britney Spears' conservatorship was lifted last year, the 40-year-old songstress has been living her life and speaking her truth, unapologetically. It's been refreshing for fans who have seen the pain Britney has gone through at the hands of her own family members.

Now, the "Toxic" singer is getting into public fights with her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears after the actress went on Nightline to promote her new tell-all book.

During an interview with "Nightline" reporter Juju Chang, Jamie Lynn described an alleged incident with her sister Britney that she says involved her now 13-year-old daughter Maddie.

She claimed that tensions were high when the family was quarantining together earlier in the pandemic.

The former "Zoey 101" star claimed that Britney "cursed" at her and "got in her face" while she was holding her 3-year-old daughter, Ivey.

"I just walked out of the rooms. I was like, we're just all family under one roof. I'm not trying to argue," Jamie Lynn recalled. "And when I try to remove myself from the situation, that's when I guess she just got really angry and my oldest daughter tried to, you know, mediate the situation."

"I hated that, like, that's not what you're supposed to do. You're 12," she added.

The interview was part of Jamie Lynn's press tour for her new tell-all book, "Things I Should Have Said" which is out on January 18.

In a passage of her book, obtained by Us Weekly Jamie alleges that there was an incident involving Britney becoming "scared" and locking them both in a room after grabbing a knife.

Britney was quick to respond to Jamie's accusations, and was clearly hurt by the whole ordeal.

"Jamie Lynn... congrats babe! You've stooped to a whole new level of LOW... I've never been around you ever with a knife or would I ever even think to do such!!!" Britney wrote.

"The only knife I ever saw you with at home was cutting the biggest pieces of squash I ever saw in my life and it was way too big for me to cut... So please please stop with these crazy lies for the Hollywood books!!!"

She continued: "NOW and only NOW do I know only a scum person would make up such things about someone.... I'm actually very confused about you making that up because it's honestly not like you at all!!!! Around the kids???? Jamie Lynn, seriously??? Come on!!!"

Britney concluded: "Congrats on introducing your older sister the concept of getting LOW... LOWER... LOWEST... because you win on that one, babe!!!!"

In response to Britney's message, Jamie Lynn insisted she is always there for her sister "behind-the-scenes."

Jamie Lynn's book is available for purchase on January 18.
