TikToker Who Started With 1 Cent Bobby Pin Trades Her Way Up To $80,000 House

It's wild to be how kids these days become famous. When I was younger, you had to know how to do a full dance routine and lip-sync perfectly only to be mocked by hoards of aggressive, smiley paparazzi.

Thankfully, those days are gone, and if you're like TikTok star Demi Skipper, you can go viral for trading a bobby pin into a house.

Yep, you read that right.

Demi Skipper has been running her popular social media account, Trade Me Project, since May 2020.

Last spring, the California resident started with a one-cent bobby pin listed on Craigslist, and has since traded 28 items to achieve her goal — a HOUSE!

“After 28 trades and all the ups and downs, I finally did it," Demi shares in a video post, as per CNBC News.

Starting with a bobby pin, Demi traded earrings, margarita glasses, an Apple TV, and a Peloton bike.

For the housr, Demi traded an "off-grid" trailer which retails for about $40,000.

"Sometimes I’d have thousands of options and sometimes I didn’t have many,” she told the news outlet. "When I had the bobby pin, I was like, ‘give me anything.’ But as you get to $10,000, very few people have things laying around their house that they can trade with."

"To be honest, there were times when things slowed down and people started doubting it and leaving comments, but it’s an example of how you just have to keep going."

She admitted that after nearly a year and a half of this lifestyle, she still has a hard time believing she achieved her goal.

"Even now, I wake up and I’m like, ‘OK, what do I need to do and who do I need to trade with?’ And I’m like, ‘Wait, it’s already happened, I don’t need to do that anymore.’"

I personally think this is so cool, and I'm eager to see what season 2 has in store for her 5 MILLION TikTok followers.
