Pregnant Woman Tells Viewers The Parts Of Pregnancy No One Talks About

Everybody loves to paint pregnancy in the best light possible. They talk about the magic of motherhood and the deep-seated connection a woman feels with her body during this time.

While that all may be true, there's a lot that's often left unsaid. Now, thanks to the new mom and TikToker @hilizgoldstein, we're finally hearing the parts of pregnancy no one talks about.

As your baby begins to grow, you can quite literally feel the love for your unborn child blossom from within you. As your body begins to change, you feel connected with it in a way you'd never imagined possible.

Most women are well aware that there are aspects of pregnancy that are, shall we say — less than ideal.

Of course, there's the weight gain; morning sickness, as well as a general feeling of discomfort at all hours of the day and night. But as it turns out, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Liz Goldstein is a new mom, as well as an avid TikToker.

Liz's TikTok account caught fire during the course of her pregnancy, thanks to her many videos portraying the oft-neglected side of pregnancy. One of her more popular videos is titled "Pregnancy Symptoms I Had No Idea About."

The first symptom that Liz mentions she experienced in full force was depression.

According to statistics released by the Mayo Clinic, approximately 7% of women may experience some form of depression during pregnancy. If you're experiencing sleeplessness, mood swings, changes in energy level, etc. you should speak to your doctor.

Another fun pregnancy side effect Liz began experiencing was night terrors.

From the moment Liz got pregnant, every single time she would shut her eyes to try and get some rest — she'd be haunted by terrible dreams and vivid nightmares.

This is a common, albeit lesser-known side effect of pregnancy.

The topic of dreams is discussed at length in an article published by The Sleep Foundation. Their findings show that women experience far more vivid dreams during pregnancy, as well as have a much greater dream recall during this time.

Liz then goes on to list dizziness/fainting as yet another unexpected side effect of her pregnancy.

Have you been feeling faint lately? Is there a possibility that you could be pregnant? If so, you'd better listen up. One of the earliest symptoms of pregnancy is a loss of equilibrium. If this is accompanied by onset headaches — see your doctor ASAP.

The final pregnancy symptom that Liz says she wasn't expecting: a stuffy nose.

A stuffy nose during pregnancy may be a sign of pregnancy rhinitis: an inflammation of the mucous membranes that line the inner part of your nose. This type of congestion is incredibly painful and can make sleep next to impossible, as it worsens when a person lies down.

Many of Liz's followers agreed with her, stating that they too experienced similar side effects.

One fellow TikTok user said, "OMG the stuffy nose! Why is that a thing it is so annoying!"

"No one told me my nose would get bigger as well," another remarked.

Thankfully for Liz, she no longer has to worry about pregnancy symptoms — at least for a little while.

On August 31st, 2021, Liz gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Logan Jace Pearlman. Her baby weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs 11 oz.
