It's Time To Learn How To Melt Chocolate Properly For The Perfect Fondue Night

There are a few things every home baker should know.

  1. how to measure correctly, b) how to start with the right ingredients and c) how to melt chocolate properly.

Knowing how to do the latter will help you get chocolate wasted make chocolate drizzle for cookies and the perfect chocolate for fondue night!

So without further fondue (I had to), keep reading!

When it comes to melting chocolate, there are usually two schools of thought.

The first method people usually do is break up the chocolate and melt it in the microwave. The second is to melt chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan of boiling water.

While both methods work, they have one thing in common: they're not the right way to melt chocolate!

This is reserved for a method shared to TikTok by a user named Rumaisah. Her video has gone viral for how brilliant it is.

"This is quite possibly one of the best hacks I've ever seen. If you love chocolate then this is 100% for you," the text overlay read.

The video starts with her putting a chocolate bar still in the wrap in a saucepan with water.

As the water boils, it melts the chocolate in the wrapper. You could also use boiling water from a kettle if you didn't want to wait (after all, who wants to wait for chocolate?).

"Gone are the days of burnt chocolate," Rumaisah's video read as she opened up the Cadbury chocolate bar and showed how perfectly melted it was.

Be very careful with the wrapper, as it will be very hot inside. She then showed the possibilities of melted chocolate by showing a strawberry perfectly covered in the decadent chocolate.

This easy, mess-free hack gained a ton of views — over 1.9 million — and hundreds of comments.

"Why have I never thought of this?" one user wrote. “100% best hack for chocolate lovers," another added. One person said that they will try it after always burning chocolate in the microwave.

One user said that this hack also works with hot water from the tap.

When Rumaisah asked if it works properly, they said, "perfectly."

Another user brought up concerns about chocolate going to waste. "Yes this is great. However. I'm worried about the amount of chocolate that might go to waste."

They're not wrong. When you take the chocolate out of the package before melting it, you're able to get every last piece.

But when the chocolate is melted from the package, it's a lot harder to get it all unless you really scrape it with a spatula.

One wrote that you could cut the corner off the packet instead of opening it fully and use it for piping, such as to draw designs or letters.

This just goes to show that the opportunities with this hack are endless (and super delicious).

Now that you've mastered this chocolate hack, you can use it to level up your other baking endeavors.

Like this three-ingredient Oreo fudge that anyone can make. The TikTok hack involves combining condensed milk and melted white chocolate in a skillet. Add a generous amount of crushed Oreos.

Then, transfer the fudge mixture into a baking dish and allow it to cool in the refrigerator.

Once that's done, top with more crumbled oreo and you melted chocolate! Delish!

There's also a 20-minute chocolate lava cake that you will devour in one minute after you make it.

You take your melted chocolate and mix it with melted butter.

Then, add 1/4 cup of flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and milk, and mix. Transfer to a greased ramekin and bake for 15 minutes at 355°F. Check out the completed recipe here!

Bon appétit!
