Dolly Parton Shares Rare Photo Of Her Husband Carl Dean For Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is an incredible holiday. On a day that's filled with food, family, and football — what's not to love? But as we all no doubt know, it can also be chaotic to the core.

Luckily, there are people in the world who remain dedicated to instilling the true meaning of the holiday in us all. People like Dolly Parton, who just recently shared a rare photo of her husband Carl Dean to celebrate the season.

American Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays of the year.

It's a proverbial marathon of eating, drinking, socializing with seldom-seen family members, and of course — football. But as enjoyable as it is, Thanksgiving Day can also be downright exhausting.

What's even worse is the day that immediately follows Thanksgiving — Black Friday.

That's right — I said it. I'm sorry but having to contend with endless traffic, raucous crowds, and hordes of shoppers when I've barely risen from a carb-fueled-alcohol-induced coma isn't my idea of a good time.

Most years, I'd be self-diagnosed with a bad case of the "Friday Flu" by now. But this year, thanks to Dolly Parton, things are looking up.

This morning, instead of waking up with a turkey hangover, I along with legions of Dolly's loyal fans were thrilled to be given a rare glimpse into her pridefully private personal life.

In the midst of all the Thanksgiving hustle and bustle, Dolly shared a throwback photo of she and her husband Carl Dean.

In an effort to show the world what she was most thankful for, the 75-year-old Country Music legend captioned the photo "Happy #Thanksgiving from me and mine to you and yours."

Both Dolly and Carl are sporting huge smiles and look positively giddy cozied up to one another.

Dolly's black dress with white frills is absolutely to die for, while Carl Dean looks undeniably dapper in his purple shirt and striped tie. There are no two ways around it — he was quite the looker in his younger years.

In an unprecedented turn of events, this is the second throwback photo that Dolly has posted in recent weeks.

Dolly captioned this photo, "Find you a partner who will support you like my Carl Dean does!"Judging from Carl Dean's impressive t-shirt, he puts his money where his mouth is.

As most fans will already know, Dolly and Carl Dean have been together for nearly 60 years.

They first met in 1964 during a chance encounter outside the Wishy-Washy laundromat. As Carl Dean was driving by in his pickup truck, he noticed Dolly from the side of the road and "hollered" out to her.

They were married two years later and since then, Dolly has gone on to become the undisputed Queen of Country Music.

Carl, on the other hand, prefers to stay out of the spotlight. in all the years they've been a couple, public photos of the two of them have been few and far between.

During a recent interview with 'Entertainment Tonight', Dolly opened up about her husband and why he chooses to shun the spotlight.

“He’s like, a quiet, reserved person and he figured if he ever got out there in that, he’d never get a minute’s peace and he’s right about that,” Dolly said.

“He said, ‘I didn’t choose this world, I chose you, and you chose that world. But we can keep our lives separate and together'," Dolly recalled.

Considering that Dolly and Carl Dean have been together for nearly six decades, it's safe to say that their arrangement has been a fruitful one.

Which is why today, on this blackest of Black Fridays, I'm raising a toast to Dolly and Carl Dean.

Thank you for reminding us what the true meaning of Thanksgiving is and for making our Black Friday just a little bit brighter. Hopefully, so long as we're good — we'll all be treated to yet another family photobook memory come Christmas time.
