Some guys have some preferences when it comes to how their girlfriends dress and look. Many times, this can come off as controlling or even like they're being absolute jerks.

But, when they show you their true colors, some women have to believe it. There is no other option. When someone shows you their true colors, don't try to paint a different picture.

One woman, Nikki, learned the hard way to read the red flags early on.

Sharing on her TikTok account, Nikki showcased that some men are just outright wrong for you.

It all started with a video she shared where she explained that her boyfriend sent her home in an Uber because he was "embarrassed" to be seen with her in her outfit.

People online obviously wanted details about how this happened.

Nikki shared that in their brief relationship, her boyfriend constantly said things to her about how she dresses and how she does her hair and makeup, saying he liked her better more "natural" and when she doesn't "try so hard."

She even told her friends, who thought it was weird.

She shared with a friend that every time she gets ready to go out, he tells her not to put on makeup.

And, he claimed he likes her better "natural" with "no makeup at all." Her friend even said she didn't like it.

Nikki and her boyfriend had plans to go to dinner before his work event.

When they had met up in the cab, he couldn't stop staring at her.

Nikki eventually got the hint that he didn't like how she was dressed or done up, and she asked him if he wanted her to go home and change. He said he then "felt bad."

She said she "couldn't enjoy dinner" because of it.

At dinner, she clearly couldn't enjoy herself because she was so fixated on how awkward and uncomfortable he made her feel.

At dinner, she told him she was "either going like this or not going at all," and his response was, "well, then can I call you an Uber?"

Nikki said "Yeah, sure call me an Uber."

Turns out, she took the Uber back to his place—where she had been living for the past three weeks—and packed up all her stuff, and left.

Nikki usually lives out of her van, which is redecorated as a living space. So, she left and went back to her van-life.

Many didn't even believe the story, as it was so crazy.

But, Nikki shared photos and videos showcasing how real it was.

She also showcased that it really did hurt her, because when anyone disrespects you in this way, it can be painful and heartbreaking.

Nikki even shared full videos of her outfit.

The outfit, which was super cute and really classy, was something he disapproved of.

And, many said it shows he's extremely controlling and even narcissistic if he made her go home just because he didn't like the way she was dressed.

People online said she was "way too caught up in being pretty."

However, Nikki shared that she lives in a van with no hot water and she literally has to heat up her water to bathe and shower.

She also said she "[expletives] in the woods" and lives mostly outdoors. So, she's not as "high maintenance" as everyone thinks.

Others said it's "her fault" for not setting boundaries.

Nikki clapped back at people who were "victim shaming" saying that she should have had better boundaries with this guy.

She said that no matter what, these were his true colors, and even after 3 weeks, 3 months, or 3 years it would have come out eventually.

One therapist, however, said that she's "glad Nikki is safe."

A domestic violence therapist commented on Nikki's video saying that this is how domestic violence escalates in relationships and she is happy that Nikki is safe, away from this type of boundary testing and abuse.

Nikki agreed, saying she's glad she learned his true colors so early on.
