Subway Worker Working With Baby Strapped To Chest Sparks Debate Online

When it comes to having kids and making money, many parents struggle with having the time to do both.

When you are a single parent and need to make ends meet, trying to find child care while you go to work can be complicated. Not every daycare or child care center is affordable and not everyone has a family to help out, either.

Some people try to find the time for both.

Some people look for jobs where they can also bring their child along with them, or when they can work specific hours in which someone can come and help them out while they are at work.

However, there are some stigmas sometimes against working parents.

Not all bosses are kind or understanding of parents who have to take care of their children. Some managers and bosses are very cruel towards single parents, asking them to work overtime or even last-minute shifts, despite their responsibilities as parents.

Many believe that jobs should be more understanding of working parents.

Many millennials and people from Gen-X believe that employers need to be more understanding of these parents who are looking to support their families and also keep a steady income and job, while being a good parent, as well.

A recent video shared on TikTok proved just that.

A video shared on TikTok showcased a Subway worker who was working his shift and making sandwiches with a baby strapped to his chest. The video was shot to the song "I'm a Survivor" by Reba.

The baby in the video looks totally calm and chill.

Throughout the video, the worker makes some sandwiches, does his job, and rings up a customer all while the baby is strapped to his chest totally hanging out. No crying, no problems at all.

The video, while adorable, sparked some conversations in the comments online.

While the TikTok video is so sweet and pretty damn adorable, many in the comments had different opinions on whether or not this is okay and whether or not it should be allowed at all. Some disagreed on this.

Many asked if we can normalize parents working and their kids coming.

Many commenters felt that this should be normalized, where parents can bring their kids to work and they can make money for their families and also be good parents at the same time. Child care can be very costly and expensive.

Others said this wouldn't bother them if they saw it.

Some people said it would bother them if they were having someone make their food and a baby was strapped to them, but others said it wouldn't. Sometimes child care falls through and we are forced to do what we have to for our kids.

One person pointed out that it's a health code violation, though.

While the customer may not have a problem, the health and safety department would definitely have a problem, especially because the guy is making food with a baby there—which spreads germs and can cause problems.

One mom pointed out that single parents often do this.

A mom on TikTok pointed out that this Subway worker brought her "back" to the times she had to bring her own child to the DV shelter where she worked for overnights—because she had no other help and needed to be a mom, too.

Turns out, the baby wasn't even the workers.

In the comments, one person asked for the "Dad's GoFundMe," but it turned out, the TikTok user was the parent—a single mom who is good friends with the Subway worker, who just so happens to love and adore her son.

How sweet.
