Kody And Christine Brown Split Due To Kody's 'Devotion' To Robyn: Source

Big news for fans of the hit TLC show Sister Wives as third wife Christine Brown announced Tuesday afternoon that she is leaving husband Kody Brown after over 25 years together.

Viewers of the series will know Kody has had a rocky past few years trying to keep his family together amidst controversies, arguments, and several moves across the country.

Fans of the hit TLC series "Sister Wives" know Kody Brown is polygamist husband to four wives — Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn Brown.

Kody and Christine share six children together — Asypen, 26, Mykelti, 25, Paedon, 23, Gwendlyn, 20, Ysabel, 18, and Truely, 11.

Janelle came into the family as the third wife in 1994, with fourth wife Robyn joining the fold in 2010.

It's no secret to viewers of the series that the four wives didn't always get along, and after years of Kody's rumored favoritism for Robyn, a source is alleging she was a catalyst for the split.

Fans of the series were rocked Tuesday afternoon when Christine broke the news of she split from Kody on Instagram.

"After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave," the 49-year-old shared.

"We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family," she added.

"At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family."

"Christine’s decision to leave comes with a great deal of sadness," Kody wrote in his own statement.

"We enjoyed many years together and I have a large amount of respect and admiration for her. Although we are moving forward on different paths, we will always remain committed parents," he added.

Now, a source close to the family is alleging that the split was impacted by Kody's loyalties to fourth wife, Robyn.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kody was reportedly seeing certain wives less while spending more time with Robyn.

"It’s no shock. She’s been in the process of leaving him for a while," a source told 'Us Weekly.'

"The big reason why she split from him is because Kody has been completed devoted to Robyn [Brown] for the past five or six years. That hasn’t changed at all."

As fans will recall, Robyn was the first new wife to enter the family in 16 years.

According to the source, Kody's world "completely stopped" when she entered the picture... He was devoted to being polygamous so he kept that going for as long as he could."

"He serves God and believes being polygamous is his way to heaven, so it’s not necessarily about having to be in love with all your wives. It’s about who else is as devoted as he is."

As for Christine, the source said the 49-year-old is heartbroken. "[Christine’s] really hurting. She really loved Kody. She gave him her all in hope that he would love her.'

"Kody has not been around at all. He used COVID-19 as a big excuse to not be around family.'

"It’s been his ticket to freedom essentially. This destroyed Christine because she really tried to give her all to the marriage," the source added.

It seems Christine is ready for her new life back in Utah, as was seen on the "Sister Wives" season 15 finale.

While this was no doubt a difficult decision for the mom of six, we're happy Christine is doing what is best for her and her family!
