'Sister Wives' Stars Kody Brown And Christine Brown Split After More Than 25 Years Together

Big news for fans of the hit TLC show Sister Wives as third wife Christine Brown announced Tuesday afternoon that she is divorcing husband Kody Brown after over 25 years of marriage.

Viewers of the series will know Kody has had a rocky past few years trying to keep his family together amidst controversies, arguments, and several moves across the country.

Fans of the hit TLC series "Sister Wives" know Kody Brown is polygamist husband to four wives — Mary, Janelle, Christine and Robyn Brown.

Kody and Christine share six children together — Asypen, 26, Mykelti, 25, Paedon, 23, Gwendlyn, 20, Ysabel, 18, and Truely, 11.

Recently, Christine addressed troubles in her and Kody's marriage in a teaser for the TLC show's upcoming 16th season.

"Why would I want to live on the same property with a dysfunctional marriage where right over there, he's got a full-functioning marriage?" the 48-year-old can be heard saying in the trailer, as per People.

"Who would ever want to live like that?" she added.

In the show's previous season, the mom of six wasn't shy about telling viewers about she and Kody's marital problems.

In one scene, the four sister wives were all sitting on their Coyote Pass property in Flagstaff, Arizona, reminiscing on the memories they made on their recent visit back to their former hometown in Utah.

"When we were there, you guys all talked about Utah was home, and the mountains were home, and family was there," Christine said to the other three wives through tears.

"So I thought that you felt the same."

"I'm sorry, I just don't even know how to make this okay for you," Janelle told Christine.

Robyn agreed that part of Utah "will always be home" to her, however, she still struggles with their family not being embraced in the state.

"But it's not friendly to us and I don't know. I just don't know how to feel comfortable doing that to my kids," Robyn added.

Christine and Merri then leave to go for a walk together, where Christine can be heard telling Merri "I can't do marriage with Kody anymore."

During the show's season finale in April, Christine said: "I don't want to look at the mountains and remember the angels, how they were singing and I felt this pull."

"I agreed to move to Flagstaff and I followed Kody here, but it's been a struggle the whole time," she added.

"I'm tired of feeling like I don't matter. I'm tired of not having his support when I really need it. I'm just tired. I need a partnership," she said, emotionally.

"I need something different than this."

Well, it seems Christine has made the decision to find something better for herself as she announced her separation from Kody.

"After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave," the 49-year-old shared on her Instagram Tuesday.

"We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family."

"Christine’s decision to leave comes with a great deal of sadness," Kody wrote in his own statement.

"We enjoyed many years together and I have a large amount of respect and admiration for her. Although we are moving forward on different paths, we will always remain committed parents."

This story is still developing.
