As Far As I'm Concerned, You're Never Too Old To Go Trick-Or-Treating

Look, it's no secret these past 20 months have been one heck of a ride. We've all learned the importance of family, community, and overall, kindness. I feel like we've all really understood the importance of enjoying the little things in life, and that whatever makes you happy should be celebrated.

And you know what makes a lot of people happy? Trick-or-treating! So who am I to deny this simple pleasure just because someone is older?

Growing up, I absolutely loved trick-or-treating.

My parents would drive my sister and me around multiple neighbourhoods in our city and we'd be knocking on doors for hours before coming home and dumping our bags out on the dining room table.

Talk about total bliss!

As I got older, I began to prefer staying home, handing out candy and getting to see everyone's amazing costumes.

And let me just say, I have never cared how old someone knocking on my door is.

Sure, I love seeing all the cute kids dressed up, but I also love seeing the unique and often times hilarious costumes from the older kids.

Plus, there are so many reasons why someone who is older may choose to go trick-or-treating still, and it's not my place to question it!

There is already so much negativity in the world, I certainly don't plan on adding to it by giving weird looks to teens, and even adults, who come to my house to trick-or-treat.

Look, it doesn't matter how old you are; if you're willing to wear a costume, wig and/or face paint and walk around for hours all in the name of Halloween, you deserve all my candy!

So the next time you see someone who you think might be a little too old to be trick-or-treating, remember to keep those opinions to yourself and just enjoy the night!
