Kate Moss’ Daughter Praised For Not Hiding Her Insulin Pump On Catwalk

Like mother, like daughter.

Lila Grace Moss is the 18-year-old daughter of supermodel Kate Moss. She's followed in her mother's footsteps by becoming a model and looking to redefine the modeling industry.

She did so proudly at the Fendi x Versace show by wearing her insulin pump on her leg. This bold move has since been praised by fans!

You know Kate Moss.

She's a supermodel whose natural look redefined the fashion industry in the '90s. At 5'7, she proved that you don't have to be super tall to dominate runways.

This gave much-needed inspiration to short girls everywhere who dreamed of a career in modeling.

She's also a mother to her daughter, Lila Grace.

Kate and her ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack had Lila in 2000. She's the only daughter of Kate's.

Like many other supermodels and their daughters (Kaia Gerber and Cindy Crawford, for one), Lila has followed in her mother's fashionable footsteps.

Lila booked her first modeling job at 14.

This was the same age her famous mother was scouted by Storm Model founder, Sarah Doukas. Lila's job was to be the face of The Braid Bar.

Since then, Lila has taken the modeling world by storm.

She became the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty in 2018 when she was only 16.

She also had her first solo cover that same year for Dazed Magazine, along with starring in Miu Miu's SS20 campaign.

"THANK YOU for allowing me to debut at the dreamiest show," Moss wrote on her Instagram of walking in Miu Miu's virtual Paris Fashion Week show.

Most recently, Kate and her daughter got to walk the catwalk together for the Fendi x Versace show during Milan Fashion Week.

The 18-year-old modeled a swimsuit and a jacket, while her famous 47-year-old mom rocked a black cutout dress with a printed robe.

The moment was super sweet, but not as heartwarming as Lila wearing her insulin pump on the catwalk.

She wore an Omnipod insulin pump on her thigh. This is a wireless insulin management system used by diabetics, which Lila is. She has type 1 diabetes, which she opened up about last year.

“I think not many people know that I have diabetes," she said at last year's “Fendace” event.

“It’s not visible from the outside, so no one would really know just by looking at you.”

She added that she wants to help others living with the condition. "There’s loads of things I’d like to try and help with.”

Wearing the insulin pump on the runway was a great start, and fans were quick to praise her for it.

"Thank you for wearing your Insulin pump so proudly," one fan wrote on Instagram. "Thank you so much for all diabetics girls and women," added another with a blue heart.

She's been called an inspiration to others.

"Absolutely love that you don’t hide your pod, you’re an inspiration to so many living with T1 diabetes," this user commented.

One mother commented how this will help with her 11-year-old who also has diabetes. "I love showing my 11yr old T1 daughter your pics."

A fellow person with the condition shared where they wear their Omnipod.

"Few things make me want to cry but wearing the pod so proudly on your leg," this user emotionally wrote. "I love it! I wear mine proudly on my arm."

Lila's bold move has been called groundbreaking.

"You have no idea how inspiring this photo is, not only to type 1 diabetics, but young girls everywhere to show the real you and not let anything hold you back," this fan wrote.

"You are an inspiration to those girls everywhere. Your strength and resilience shows. Keep up the great work and thank you for your representation."

Go, Lila! Kate must be so proud.
