Seth Rogen Calls Out The Emmys In Fiery Speech: 'They Lied To Us'

While the world is navigating the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, award shows are attempting to adapt to the "new" normal. Masks and social distancing, alongside rapid tests, have become standard practice.

Well, it seems like it's been standard practice everywhere but the Emmys, which is why Seth Rogen called out the award show Sunday night.

Seth Rogen hilarious — we all know this to be true.

The comedian, best known for his movies Superbad and This Is The End is famous mostly for being a SUPER laidback, easy-breezy kind of guy.

So when he took the stage at Sunday night's Emmys (to essentially rip them apart) many viewers were shocked.

"They said this was outdoors. It's not. They lied to us. We're in a hermetically sealed tent right now. I would not have come to this," Seth began, in what Emmys organizers have described as "a fully air-conditioned tent (that) will allow for more socially-distanced audience seating."

"There is way too many of us in this little room," he added, before saving his biggest dig for last.

"It's more important that we have three chandeliers than that we make sure we don't kill Eugene Levy tonight. That is what has been decided."

Of course, social media is filled with fan reactions.

While some people couldn't help but agree with the actors, others pointed out that despite his speech, he was still there, too.

The show was quick to scramble and react to Seth's statements.

Before cutting to commercial break, the Emmys DJ Reggie Watts said: " Despite what Seth might have said, we're going to celebrate and party, but while we're doing that we're absolutely following all the health and safety guidelines that some really smart people asked us to do to keep us safe from COVID."

If that wasn't enough, the show's host Cedric the Entertainer doubled down in his opening monologue:

"It actually feels amazing in here unlike what Seth (Rogen) was talking about. It feels good. We’re all vaxxed."

"We had to get vaxxed to come here," he continued.

"I got vaxxed. I did not have a reaction like Nicki Minaj’s cousin’s friend. I got Pfizer because I’m bougie. Pfizer is the Neiman Marcus of vaccines. Moderna, that’s Macy’s. Johnson & Johnson, that’s TJ Maxx," he joked.
