From childhood crushes to adulthood admirations, we all have a celebrity or public figure that we adore, and sometimes even look up to as positive examples for humanity.
A Reddit post asked users to share what celebrity they can't help but love, and people were happy to answer, with reasons to back up their loving, too. Maybe you'll find yourself a new celeb to start being a fan of!
"Steve Buscemi was once a firefighter before becoming an actor and when he heard about 9/11 he joined up with his old crew and was at ground zero," one user shared. "Steve Buscemi is a great person in almost all of the interactions I’ve heard about him."
"Played a role model and then became an advocate and real role model!"
Another reply attested to him playing a role model: "Patrick Stewart taught me a lot about the man I wanted to be when he played Captain Jean-Luc Picard."
Many cited her charity, Imagination Library, as only one reason why she's an amazing woman.
"God bless her, her Imagination Library sends my kid a book every month," said one.
"National treasure. I’m a 40-year-old man from New York, and when the topic of heroes comes up she is a go to," replied another.
One person had a great idea to honor her legacy in a humorous way, "Every post-apocalyptic movie should have a Betty White appearance. I am Legend, Will Smith hunting through the streets and Betty drives by waving. I hope Betty outlives us all."
To which another replied, "She could be an axe murderer and I would still love her."
"Guy is a stud, and he’s probably the nicest guy alive."
Someone who'd met him in person, in a casual setting too, came to agree: "Worked in the building he lived in in NYC. He's exactly the same as he is on camera. Super nice guy."
"There's a lot of stories about his kindness that he was known for, but I find it particularly heartbreakingly sweet how he treated young people with cancer," read one reply. "He was a [expletive] saint. Dude was struggling with cancer for four years, only told his close relatives, but constantly showed up to be there for kids dying of cancer. He sent them toys, paid for them to go to the premiere of Black Panther, [and] sent them voice recordings as T'Challa during the Pandemic."

Many people in the comments admitted that they're either not big wrestling fans or don't like his acting, but love him all the same for his kindness. He really makes lasting impressions on everybody!
"He's apparently a super nice dude IRL. I saw something where someone said they met him at some event, and said that his performance in Little Miss Sunshine changed their life. He just smiled and said 'Thank you so much'."
"My teacher was a director and visual effects person (I’m in a multi-media program at a vocational high school) he told us Danny DeVito was the nicest celebrity he has ever worked with."
It seems tons of people hold this opinion of him, as another user wrote, "There's an old man who comes into my shop who used to drive Danny DeVito. He said he was one of the nicest and funniest people he's ever met."
"Everyone I know who has ever met him, which reflecting is a surprising amount of my friends circle, has had nothing but good things to say about him. If anything, his lines takes a little longer at conventions because he actually interacts with people instead of just taking the picture and moving them through like an assembly line."

He seems to be greatly loved for how openly he values people in his life. As one person wrote, "SUCH a great guy and incredible husband. Loves and respects his wife unlike anything I’ve ever seen."

"I met him on a Star Trek cruise. I've admired him for years. Got all teary at finally meeting him face to face and got a hug and autograph and he could not have been more gracious. Everyone loved him and he was just so lovely and kind," replied another fan.

"I met Denzel at the premiere of Unstoppable and he was great. Everyone else just walked the carpet and went inside, but Denzel came over and shook hands and whatnot with the people in line to watch. After the movie was over pretty much all of the celebs left immediately [...], but he stuck around in the lobby of the theater [...] and talked with the fans asking them what they thought of the movie. He was super nice."
