Man's 'Cinema Secrets' Explain Which Size Popcorn You Should Be Choosing

We all love to find behind-the-scenes footage from our favorite movies, but one TikToker has been taking us behind-the-scenes at the cinema itself.

In a TikTok video titled 'Cinema Secrets,' we can now all be privy to the inner workings of our local cinema — including such information as why we should all be wary of medium-sized popcorn and why you cannot touch the screen at the cinema.

TikToker Max Klymenko's latest 'Cinema Secrets' goes through seven secrets of the cinema world.

Max's first secret was that people are typically meant to avoid medium sized popcorn, as he explains:

"In most cinemas you've got three size options — small, medium and large. In reality this is a marketing trick because the medium popcorn is just driving sales to the large one, this is called decoy pricing."

Max then ends his first "secret" with the controversial assertion: "Btw, salted popcorn is superior."

Max then explains that cinema popcorn is not exactly made in a microwave...

Instead, you insert scoopfuls of corn into one of these containers. The container then heats up and will produce copious amounts of popcorn in just three minutes flat.

The age-old Pepsi vs Coke argument also reared its ugly head in Max's video.

According to Max, you will never see both Pepsi and Coke in the same cinema due to their longstanding rivalry. This naturally prompted people to argue in the comments over which beverage is superior.

The only thing that people could agree on was that the best drink was not Pepsi Mango.

The video also shows how cinemas make their beverages.

"The Pepsi that you drink from cinemas, actually doesn't come from Pepsi bottles," Max explains.

"They make it on the spot, so take the water, then you pump gas into it, then you take this Pepsi syrup that is brought by Pepsi to every cinema. You squeeze [the packet of sugary syrup] into the gassed water and drink [once mixed]."

Max explains why the best seat in the cinema is slap bang in the middle.

The reason behind Max's claims that the best cinema seats are in the centre of the room is that this seat will give you the best sound quality. This advice was specifically tailored for people watching action films at the cinema.

The penultimate 'secret' that Max had to share was what happens in the projector room.

This one actually depends on the cinema that you are in. However, due to a lot of projectors being automated now without actual film required, it is apparently rare to find a person in the projector room nowadays.

Finally, Max explained why cinema screens are so expensive.

Max ends his video by claiming that cinema screens are so pricy due to the fact that they are coated with silver to "reflect the light properly against the projector."

However, while certain cinema screens are coated in silver as it is particularly effective at screening 3D movies, other cinemas can employ screens coated in the likes of magnesium carbonate according to ProjectorScreenSpecialist.com.

Did you know any of these 'cinema secrets' before now?

Obviously any of you who have worked at a cinema will be privy to some of this information, but to anyone else out there who was oblivious to the inner workings of the cinema like me, let us know what your favorite nugget of information from Max's video was!

Also, be sure to let us know whether you prefer Coke or Pepsi in the comments, as that debate just never gets old quite frankly!
