Woman's Organized Pantry Starts Debate About Food Safety

There are few things as controversial as an organization. People feel very strongly about the way they do things in their homes and believe other people should do things the same way — it's just human nature.

However, one woman's recent home organization sparked a big discussion about food safety and now, we're getting to the bottom of the eggciting controversy.

When it comes to eggs, I've got to ask what's not to love?!

They're affordable, easy to make, and incredibly versatile! I truly can't think of one meal that isn't better with a runny egg placed on top of it.

Needless to say, I'm a huge fan!

However, if there's one thing I do know, it's that I always store my eggs in the fridge — I've never really thought twice about it!

However, a huge debate about this very topic has recently erupted online after a woman showed off her pantry on social media.

"Pantry organizing day!" the Australian woman reportedly wrote alongside a photo of her super satisfying display.

"I would advise if you want to organise your supplies, then you need to pull everything out of your pantry, assess and re-organise," she added.

However, it became clear that people were much more interested in her food safety than her organizing skills.

If you didn't spot it before, it seems the woman had eggs stored in her pantry, not in the fridge!

"Now you just need to put the eggs in the fridge and get some Tupperware," one woman wrote, as per Daily Mail.

"Eggs in the pantry! This is NOT okay," echoed a different user.

However, one egg farmer was quick to jump to the woman's defence, insisting if they were farm fresh eggs then it was totally okay!

"I'm an egg farmer, fresh eggs store on the shelf for four weeks, six weeks in the fridge," they explained. "They are very stable as long as not stored in a hot place or in sunlight."

According to the FDA, raw eggs should be stored in the fridge at a temperature of 40° F or below, and should be used within three weeks.

The recommendations regarding pasteurized egg products vary from country to country.
