Fans Are Angry After Rebel Wilson Shills Stress Gummies While On A Yacht

It's 2021, there are a few things we all have to accept: kids love iPads, social media is here to stay, and celebrities will try to sell you things on Instagram.

Look, I have no problem with sponsored posts on Instagram, but I do have an issue when the post feels off, which is what many fans felt when it came to Rebel Wilson's latest sponsored post.

Rebel Wilson is one of my favorite celebrities of all time.

At 41-years-old, Rebel has proven singlehandedly that age is just a number and that you can do whatever you want, whenever you want!

While everyone has been talking about her transformation, there's something else about Rebel that's making headlines these days.

When it comes to sponsored Instagram posts, you probably think about the Kardashian's and the Jenner's of the world.

However, every celebrity does them, including Ms. Wilson! It's just part of the Hollywood rat race.

However, these ads are rarely met with much controversy — despite what you're about to see on Rebel's post.

One of the most popular brands sponsored by celebrities is OLLY Wellness.

This brand of wellness gummies claim to help with a range of ailments like stress, lack of sleep, problem skin, and brittle hair.

Now, Rebel is getting called out for saying these pills have helped with the stress of traveling throughout Europe amidst a global pandemic.

I know, right? It can be so stressful living la vida loca on the Mediterranean sea!

Posing on a yacht with the sponsored gummies, Rebel wrote: "Nothing rocks my boat… not even the stress that comes with getting back to traveling!"

"I’ve been loving my @ollywellness Goodbye Stress supplements. These tasty gummies help me say PEACE OUT to the bad vibes," she concluded.

The comments were filled with criticism for Rebel's post.

"It seems like someone hacked Rebel Wilson's account," commented one follower.

"Lost some respect today, promoting this [expletive], sorry but I’m out," commented another.

"Stressing on your gorgeous yacht, are you? Whoever convinced you to post this BS Express should be fired, immediately," echoed a different angry follower.

"Travel is a privilege of the wealthy. I suppose this tracks, considering who items such as this are marketed towards."

Many followers felt the post was out-of-touch.

"I love you but you are really out of touch. NO ONE is traveling like you and the rich elite and NO ONE with a family can afford olly vitamins and supplements," one follower expressed. "They are really expensive. Not that you would know. Sadly, I think it is time to unfollow. And before you or anyone else blasts me, I’m in special education and doing it for over 20 years. I thought that Rebel was such a great person…"

"What a shame when another Aussie let's fame and glory become just another #americanactress #influencers," a different user shared.

"I swear only celebrities will post about being stressed while on a giant yacht like what?" joked another.

However, some people don't think the sponsorship was so bad, and have even benefitted from using the same vitamins themselves.

"These gummies have really made a huge difference for me," shared one fan. "I used to rely on benzos like Xanax or Klonopin to calm my anxiety. These are a great substitute and much better for me."

"I used to take these when I worked for a legal giant. These helped," said another.

It's clear people have a lot of thoughts about this post, but what do you think?
