Teacher Receives Praise Online After Showing 'Take What You Need' Station For High School Students

Being a teacher is often mistaken for an easy job. However, for those of us who have worked as an educator, or who have had a close relationship with one, know that this couldn't be further from the truth. Teachers donate their time, energy (and oftentimes their own money) to foster a friendly environment of learning.

Now, one teacher is going viral for showing how she goes above and beyond for her high school students.

Being a teacher is far from a simple gig.

Sure, teachers get summers off, but they spend most of that time planning for next year. Trust me, no teacher just "turns off" their brain for three months — they're always thinking about their students!

One high school teacher is going viral for her amazing efforts at improving her student's day-to-day life.

In a now-viral tweet, Melissa Blair Tracy tweeted a photo of her "Take What You Need" station, designed to help her students in a pinch!

The rolling drawer features everything a teen might need — mints, erasers, stickers, deodorant, pads/ tampons and snacks!

Lots of snacks!

Melissa's thoughtful idea has gone viral, with people noting how important these basic hygiene items can be for underprivileged students.

The reaction to Melissa's station has been overwhelmingly positive.

"So many could have used this when I was in school. So many people were secretly in need and had hygiene issues. This is so amazing. We need more beautiful teachers like you in the world," said one Twitter user.

"Living between two households with a clueless dad when I first started my period…this teacher would have been a life saver," echoed another.

Many people even offered to help replenish the station with their own money.

Gestures like these are truly game-changers for students, and with teachers like Melissa, it's good to know our kids are in such good hands!
