Jamie Lee Curtis Sheds 'Old ideas' After Learning Her 25-Year-Old Is Transgender

Although she's been a celebrated actress for decades, Jamie Lee Curtis seems to have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity and appreciation in recent years.

While part of that has to do with the fact that she remains as talented as ever, she's also had quite the impression on her online followers as a compassionate person with a lot of cool interests.

And with her most recent revelation, it seems that compassion has kept up where it counts as a development within her family has her relinquishing what she describes as an "old idea."

In an interview with AARP, Curtis describes the life she prefers to lead as one of "constant metamorphosis."

This seemed to start when she cut alcohol out of her life back in 1999, but she told AARP that it's also extended to ridding her life of "vampire" friends.

She also said that another part of this process is setting boundaries with the friends she's keeping in her life.

As she put it, "I am somebody who sheds every day. Let's get rid of that, I don't need that. It's all about old ideas that don't work anymore."

And of these "old ideas," one that she has recently felt the need to let go of is that gender is a fixed concept.

With her daughter's permission, Curtis revealed that she and her husband Christopher Guest "have watched in wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby."

And it seems that Curtis is about to help the 25-year-old computer gaming editor through another major chapter in her life.

As she said, "And she and her fiancé will get married next year at a wedding that I will officiate."

Ruby is one of two adopted children that Curtis and Guest share, the other being a 34-year-old dance instructer named Annie.

She also said that Ruby and Annie have not given her any grandchildren yet but that she's hopeful she'll be able to meet some in the future.
