The Internet Is Divided On How Often Ashton Kutcher And Mila Kunis Bathe Their Children

Ashton and Mila Kunis have become known for their somewhat unconventional approach to parenting. But after a recent interview on Dax Shepard's The Armchair Expert podcast — they're in real hot water.

Over the course of the episode, Mila and Ashton revealed how often they bathe their children. And after hearing the dirt, the internet is totally divided on the issue.

Just how often should you bathe your children, anyway?

According to reports from the American Academy of Dermatology Association, children ages 6-11 need only bathe 1-2 times per week.

Experts say that taking a daily bath is fine, although not necessary.

However, daily showers should start being a trend when puberty begins.

However, it can be a tricky situation because dermatologists also do point out that too much soap and water isn't always a good thing.

Dr. Adam Friedman, professor of dermatology at the George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, opened up about that to *TODAY Parents*.

“Water is probably the No. 1 irritant on the planet because it washes away the natural moisturizing factors that our skin makes,”

That is why so many dermatologists recommend using a moisturizer right after you step out of the shower or tub.

“Moisturizer locks in water, allows the skin to stay soft and supple and it also protects from irritants, pollutants, microbes and even a little bit of sun,” Friedman explained.

“Our skin is incredible in terms of protective capacity. But when it dries out, that’s problematic.”

Even though it can seem complicated, that doesn't mean that you should take very long breaks between showering.

So when a celebrity couple said that they do just that, the internet had a lot of thoughts.

Hollywood power couple Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher see things a little differently.

The former stars of That 70s Show found themselves in hot water after revealing how often (or perhaps how seldom) they scrub their children clean with soap and water.

“I wasn’t that parent that bathed my newborns. Ever,” Mila Kunis explained on Dax Shepard's *The Armchair Expert* podcast.

Ashton Kutcher happened to be joining Mila that day as a featured guest. He told Dax that his approach to bathing children was simple:

“Here’s the thing,” Ashton said matter-of-factly. "If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point.”

"Does anyone want to talk about the not showering part," one Redditor asked in bewilderment.

Although others found this to be perfectly normal. Reddit user anooch said, "I grew up in Eastern Europe without hot water just like Mila and I shower every 2 days, sometimes 3 days lol as a kid I was bathed maybe once a week."

A lot of people were mostly wondering why Kutcher and Kunis decided to share that at all.

Things that make the internet never go away, so I am just hoping that their children don't end up too embarrassed when they start school.

And of course, memes began.

But since some are pretty mean, we definitely won't be posting them here.

But regardless of all that, needless to say, people had thoughts, and they made them KNOWN.

Now, we want to hear from you.
