'Sesame Street' Goes The Distance By Including Their First Family With Two Dads

Television and movies are always evolving with time, and that includes adding more diversity and representation to accurately reflect life.

While a lot of franchises fall short of that, Seasame Street is doing what they can to make sure that their television show shows what life is really like.

That includes debuting the first family with two fathers.

*Sesame Street* welcomed pride in the best way.

Forget the online debate about Bert and Ernie, because now on Sesame Street have a family with two fathers.

Best of all, Dave and Frank debuted for the episode titled "Family Day", where they introduce themselves and their beautiful daughter Mia.

The episode debuted on June 17th, and people are absolutely in love with them.

It was a huge move, especially for a children's show, when so many larger franchises have trouble including anyone from the LGBT+ community.

The father who plays Dave, named Chris Costa wrote a heartwarming tribute on his Instagram to the show.

"I am beyond thrilled to be joining the Sesame Street family in this celebration of diversity, inclusion, and most importantly, love!"

"I hope Dave, Frank, and Mia warm your hearts."

"And remember, it’s love that brings families together. Happy #Pride everyone!!!"

This is a great move for Sesame Street. We truly love to see huge TV shows making important moves to include representation.
