Homeowners Install An Outdoor Bathroom So They Can Take Baths In Their Garden

An outdoor bathroom isn't a feature that comes with every home — that's for sure. Of course, you'd need to live somewhere where the climate is warm enough and then, there's the issue of ensuring you have enough privacy. But, if you cover those two areas, then it could be lovely to be able to take a bath in your garden.

If you're still on the fence over this whole outdoor bathroom idea, maybe this DIY project will change your mind.

They had a pretty great blank canvas to work with.

They started by removing part of a hedge and flattening the land out. I mean, if you've got the space, why not, right? I'm all for doing what you want with your own stuff!

It was slow going.

Fences went up, and they drilled holes into the old concrete in order to place the posts they'd need for a roof. You can see it starting to come together, though!

They chose brick for the floor.

They reused some old bricks they had to create a shower base! Yup, this outdoor bath area will also include a shower, because why not?

Here's the star of the show, pre-makeover:

That's the tub that will eventually become the garden tub. However, I am super focused on the adorable animals. They're clearly the stars of the show here.

The tub got a coat of paint.

As charming as rust is, this tub needed a serious makeover, both for the aesthetic, and for safety. Sealing it with waterproof clear coat will keep it from rusting in the years to come!

Things really started to come together after that.

They painted everything with Rustoleum black spray paint! Black is the perfect color for this whole bathroom — the vibes are immaculate, and it goes beautifully with the plants.

The finished product made it all SO worth it.

Try and tell me that isn't one of the most stunning bathrooms you've ever seen, in or outdoors. I would totally have one of these if I had a house!

Let's take a look at the shower, too.

The shower head was actually handmade and sourced from Etsy! It's absolutely stunning, and that pop of copper really gives the whole place some industrial elegance.

So, what do you think?

Places that are warm year-round or located near beaches would definitely be the best places for outdoor bathrooms like this one. You want to be able to use it year-round!
